GERMANY will aim to complete their World Cup 2022 qualifying campaign with a seventh win on the spin when they face Armenia on Sunday evening.
Die Mannschaft became the first team to qualify for next winter's showpiece by dishing out a 4-0 mauling to North Macedonia last month to secure top spot in the section with two games to spare.
The Germans are a nation which seem very much on an upward trajectory after Hansi Flick became the first Germany coach to win his first six games in charge.
Last time out, Germany hit Liechtenstein for nine without reply and they will smell blood when they come up against an Armenia side staring down the barrel of elimination.
The hosts head into the game off the back of a humbling 5-0 home defeat at the hands of North Macedonia on Thursday night.
Joaquín Caparrós' side could still mathematically qualify for next year's showpiece but it would take nothing short of a miracle for the Mountaineers to secure a top-two berth in Group J now.
Outright Betting
Armenia have lost just one of their last seven home matches but the hosts are huge outsiders here at 29/1 (SBK) while the draw is also deemed unlikely at 10/1 (SBK) with the same firm.
Germany have won each of their last 17 way matches in World Cup qualifying and another road success is heavily fancied at 1/9 with SBK.
Betting Angles
Punters will have to be a bit creative in order to eek some value out of a Germany win, therefore I’m once again going to head to the Bet Builder market.
We can get some 5/6 (PaddyPower) on Germany to win, over two match goals and Germany race to five corners and that combination holds appeal.
The Germans have been a resurgent force under the stewardship of Hansi Flick and they should have too much class for an Armenia outfit who were dispatched 6-0 by Deutschland in September's reverse fixture.
Germany have since notched up 4, 4 and 9 strikes in three of their subsequent four fixtures and that does not bode well for the out-of-sorts Armenians who are winless in each of their last six section outings.
What's more, the landlocked hosts have posted just one clean sheet across their last six Group J assignments, while Germany have banged in an eye-watering 27 goals across the same stretch of pool fixtures.
With that in mind, I'm more than happy to merge a German win and over 2.5 goals here, but in order to boost the odds, I'll back the free-scoring guests in the race to five corners.
Flick's preferred system focuses on width, with Germany hitting five or more corners in all but one of their six outings under the tutelage of the former Bayern Munich manager to date.
It's also worth noting that the aforementioned Bet Builder has banked in four of Germany's last five World Cup qualifiers and that only adds to the appeal of supporting the same formula in Yerevan on Sunday evening.
