After getting off the mark in the Premier League, Leicester City go in search of a second successive win as they travel to Bournemouth on Saturday.
Bournemouth were held to a 0-0 draw by Brentford in their previous Premier League fixture. They failed to muster much attacking threat with just one attempt on target but were solid enough at the back to earn the point.
The Cherries have made themselves hard to get past in recent weeks as the draw with Brentford extended their unbeaten run to four matches. However, their only victory in that run was a 3-2 win at Nottingham Forest, which highlighted their still vulnerable backline.
While Bournemouth have shown steady improvement in recent weeks, easing themselves away from the danger zone, their home form still needs some work. Gary O’Neil’s men have won just once at the Vitality Stadium this season and are winless in their last three matches at home.
Leicester City are coming off their first win of the season after thumping Nottingham Forest 4-0 last Monday. James Maddison netted a brace while Harvey Barnes and Patson Daka were also on target.
It was a fine performance from Leicester City and eased some of the pressure on manager Brendan Rodgers. The win was also enough to take the Foxes off the foot of the table.
Despite keeping a clean sheet against Nottingham Forest, Leicester City still showed some vulnerability at the back that was only spared by some poor finishing. Defending remains a problem as they have conceded 11 goals in their last three Premier League matches.
How the bookies view it
Leicester City have the upper hand among the bookies and are priced at 11/10 by Sport Nation to claim the win. A win for Bournemouth is valued at 5/2 by bet365 while a draw is set at odds of 13/5 with BoyleSports.
Head to head
Leicester City have a 4-3 edge with five draws from 12 previous matches with Bournemouth. Both teams won at home in the last two meetings with the Foxes claiming a 3-1 victory at the Kong Power Stadium while the Cherries triumphed 4-1 at the Vitality Stadium.
Players to watch
Bournemouth have not been particularly prolific this season but given Leicester City’s defensive problems, they will fancy their chances of finding the net on Saturday. Dominic Solanke is usually the furthest player forward for the Cherries and is priced at 23/10 with William Hill.
James Maddison has been Leicester City’s best player this season with five goals in seven Premier League matches so far. The midfielder is also a threat from set pieces and is priced at 3/1 by bet365 to find the net on Saturday.
Anything else catch the eye?
Bournemouth and Leicester City often serve up open encounters and have produced over 3.5 goals in their last two meetings. A similar outcome is priced at 2/1 with Unibet while over 2.5 goals is valued at 10/11 by bet365.
Leicester City have more attacking threats and could be tipped to score first on Saturday at 3/4 with BetVictor.
