Aberdeen vs Livingston

, KO: 15:00 , Pittodrie
Livingston

Aberdeen will be looking to claim their first Scottish Premiership win of the season when they lock horns with Livingston at Pittodrie in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

The Dons went into the international break as the only side in the division without any points on the board, not to mention they have failed to score a single goal across their opening three league games of the season.

After starting the season with defeats to Hearts and Celtic, Jimmy Thelin’s 10-man team slumped to a shock 1-0 loss at home to Falkirk last time out.

Back at their Pittodrie base this weekend, Aberdeen will look to arrest their slump when Livingston come to town.

David Martindale's men marked their return to the top-flight with a 2-2 draw away at Kilmarnock before defeating Falkirk 3-1 the following weekend.

The Lions have since suffered back-to-back league defeats at the hands of Celtic and Hearts, with the latter of those two losses bringing up my recommended Bet Builder.

How the bookies view it: Dons to deliver first win

Despite losing each of their opening three league games of the season, Aberdeen come into this contest as odds-on 20/23 favourites with Boylesports.

Livingston will make the long trek north as 12/5 outsiders on Boylesports while a point apiece at Pittodrie is also deemed improbable at 13/5 with the same firm.

Head to head: History favours the hosts

Aberdeen have avoided defeat in six of their previous seven meetings with Livingston, triumphing in each of the previous four encounters at Pittodrie.

Players to watch: Kev to KO Lions?

Kevin Nisbet recently returned to Aberdeen on a permanent basis following a fruitful loan spell last season. The Scottish striker is an 8/5 anytime goalscorer option on Bet365.

Daniel Finlayson has been booked in two of his three Scottish Premiership appearances for Livingston this season, making a repeat this weekend well worthy of consideration at 5/2 on Ladbrokes.

Predicted line-ups

Nicky Devlin will miss out for Aberdeen after receiving a red card against Falkirk last time out, however deadline day signings Jesper Karlsson, Stuart Armstrong and the aforementioned Nisbet are all available for selection.

Livingston again look set to be without injured duo Aidan Denholm and Cammy Kerr, however new arrivals Junior Robinson and Mahamadou Susoho could make their debuts for the club this weekend.

Aberdeen: Mitov; Jensen, Milne, Knoester, Frame; Nilsen, Shinnie; Milanovic, Polvara, Keskinen; Nisbet

Livingston: Prior; Finlayson, McGowan, Wilson, Montgomery; Pittman, Sylla; Smith, Muirhead, Yengi; Bokila

Anything else catch the eye?

With Aberdeen expected to dictate the tempo of the game on Saturday afternoon, look for the hosts to hit six or more corners at 5/6 on Bet365.

Livingston have conceded 9 or more flag kicks across each of their last three matches in all competitions.

Given that each of Aberdeen’s opening three league games of the season have featured under 2.5 goals, the same selection on Saturday offers some value at 17/20 on Boylesports.
