TUESDAY was action-packed but Wednesday is all about one game.
Liverpool face Chelsea for the Super Cup in Istanbul and I'm interested to see how Frank Lampard's Blues can bounce back from their 4-0 mauling by Manchester United at the weekend.
Jurgen Klopp's men go into the game after battering Norwich 4-1 and will be confident of collecting the silverware.
The European champions are hot favourites at no bigger than 8-13 with bet365 and you can see why. They held Man City with a good display in the Community Shield before losing on penalties and there looks a gulf between the sides.
Chelsea weren't as bad as the 4-0 scoreline suggests but confidence will be sapped and Lampard needs to find a way to get off the mark.
I reckon the Reds will triumph but at 8-13 I'd only put that on an acca so I'll have a think about it and see if I can dig out some value.
Elsewhere there are three Europa League ties with Atromitis and Legia Warsaw tied at 0-0 as they fight for the right to face Rangers (probably). Subartalo lead Ararat Armenia 2-1 ahead o ftheir home leg while Vitoria Guimaraes won 3-0 away to Ventspils.
Guimaraes are extremely short at 1-9 but Atromotis are big at just under 3-1 considering they drew in Poland. Not much on offer tonight as I said but I'll take a double of Liverpool and Atromotis not to lose.
In fact I've picked out a Super Single for Friday and it's Motherwell draw no bet at home to Hearts in the Betfred Cup. Hearts are in a mess after a sorry start to the season and fans turned on boss Craig Levein after Saturday's 0-0 home draw with Ross County and it would have been worse if the Highlanders hadn't missed a penalty.
Well had kept five clean sheets in a row before losing 5-2 to Celtic but in that game they showed plenty of glimpses of quality and I don't think they'll lose to the struggling Jambos.
Talking of Celtic – what a disaster that was as they crashed out of the Champions League after losing 4-3 at home to Cluj.
The concensus was there would be goals in the game but not many expected Neil Lennon's men to crash out. Celtic's defeat beat my Top Treble and Nomme Kalju failing to score downed the goals treble.
Goals were the way to go and well done to all the winners including HullShaker and shortee.
