IT'S finally here and let's hope Real Madrid v Liverpool lives up the billing.

I can't see a 0-0 or 1-0 but how disappointing to do that when everyone is expecting goals.

I'm tipping Liverpool and goals and I've posted a separate preview and Scott will put up a BetBuilder.

There will be loads of tips and banter from the regulars including maccathered who sparked a good debate about what's better – Premier League or La Liga.

Before the Champions League Final there is the Championship play-off final between Fulham and Aston Villa. I give my reasons for backing Fulham on another post but this will be close.

Well done to all the winners yesterday including HullShaker and Jordan who are in great form and kept us going during a quiet period. Also Ace's members bet on the BMW Championship won yesterday and today's is already up so that's good form.

I already put up a Sunday double with New York Red Bulls, who have a 100 per cent home record with 14 goals scored in four home wins, against Philadelphia. Add Ranheim, newly promoted to the Norwegian top flight and sitting third, not to lose at struggling Bodo Glimt who went up with them but haven't adjusted well.

And I also posted a Super Single which was 5pts on a goal in both halves in Kiev at 1-2.

I've added a Top Treble that includes Fulham v Aston Villa HT draw and over 2.5 match goals in Kiev. The third leg is tomorrow and I'm on Swiss champions Young Boys to complete the double by beating Zurich in the Cup Final.

During the season Young Boys won three and drew once against Zurich although all games were close. They have lost just one of 11 meetings against a side who finished fourth but 35 points off the pace.

Young Boys had a brilliant season to finish 15 points clear of Basel and will be up for the cup to make it perfect.

Remember to check out welovebetting for their latest tips and chat.

3pts Daily Double

  • NY Red Bulls (12am, Sun)
  • Ranheim +1 (5pm, Sun)
  • (19-10, bet365)

5pts Super Single

2pts Top Treble

  • Fulham v Aston Villa HT draw (5pm)
  • Real Madrid v Liverpool over 2.5 goals (7.45pm)
  • Young Boys (1pm, Sun)

Making the usual Saturday morning trip down under. It’s all about hoping that the bookies price up the games that look most goal-laden in these leagues, but it’s so often the case that they don’t. Pickings are slimmer than last week, but there’s a bet I’m sweet enough on at the prices.

    Noarlunga United v Modbury Jets
Eastern Suburbs (W) v Gold Coast United (W)

    O2.5 Match Goals Double @ 4/5 (Bet365)

    Third Stake:

Add: Goulburn Valley Suns v Altona Magic

    O2.5 Match Goals Treble @ 9/5 (Bet365)
    __________________________________

I had success last week betting against the SWQ Thunder Women’s side and they are in action again at 6am. I’d have loved an O4.0(ish) Asian goal line but unfortunately Bet365 haven’t priced the game up. If anyone is awake early doors and it appears in play, it could be one to follow.

Lastly, I’ll be hoping (like many) that goals flow in Kiev.

    Morning gents,

It’s always difficult when the whole of Europe is poised on a knife-edge pondering the complexities around a game of football featuring two of the greatest sides in the modern era.

Such is life following the Icelandic Deild 1 and I’ll try not to let the media flurry blur my views…

    THÓR VS. FRAM (1600 KO):

I’m taking Coral’s early markets on here and have a sneaking suspicion that there may well be goals in this one.

Fram have notched at least a brace in 5 of the last 7 H2H’s and their strong start to the campaign has seen them score 3, 3 and 2 team goals…their current form makes for decent value given the bookies have both teams 29/20 for the win.

Thor are more than capable of finding the net though and have done so 11 times across the last 6 H2H’s – well worth noting that these games have featured a match goal history of 2-2, 1-3, 2-1, 0-0, 2-3, 4-3.

Match goals look good and Over 3.5 pays a very tempting 6/4 – whilst I wouldn’t put anyone off, I’m taking this one:

    FRAM OVER 1.5 TGS…21/20
    ???

    Best of luck ?

Miles better in Brasil – 2-1…?

    AVAÍ VS. PAYSANDU (2315 KO):

Avai start this one hot favourites at 8/15 but I’d not rule out a Paysandu side who have proved they have a goal in them having scored in their last 6 games (the last 4 have all finished 1-1!)

There’s not a great deal separating them in the table after 6 games with Paysandu sitting one place and 1 point higher whilst Avai hold the better g/d of +6 as opposed to the vistors +3.

The gamble here is certainly the away goal but I’m willing to take it on at a big price.

A goal out in the Czech Republic yesterday with Pribram missing their many chances. While most will focus on the big game tonight, I’ve a pick which isn’t till Sunday morning. Montreal head to Minnesota on the back of some bad defeats, most recently a 1-0 loss against a 10-manned Galaxy side for the whole second half,. Minnesota are without some attacking threats up top, but they still have top scorer from last year with an ex Mexican league favourite in Quintero. They should score here and I’m chancing twice with Montreal reeling.

    MLS
    Orlando City vs Chicago Fire
    Chicago GOAL before 61 mins
    5/6
    365 – 6 Points

Although it is worth noting that Orlando have had quite a positive start to the campaign, it is worth noting that they remain without a clean sheet on home turf in there last 7 attempts. Nikolic is always a threat up top for the Fire and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get on the scoresheet here, the Fire have been somewhat inconsistent of late but have picked up great results on the road at Toronto and a big win at the in form Red Bulls. Orlando are a team that do mistakes at the back and expect Chicago to be gifted a few opportunities in this encounter, goal time is decent and I’m all over that.

Looking forward to a great round up of football this evening, best of luck all with your bets ?

I want nothing more that LFC to lift that trophy but if Madrid do what Utd did and mark Salah out of the game it could be trouble, esp if Real score 1st.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Not Madrids style,Man Utd didn’t mark Salah out of the game they parked the bus and hit us with two long balls,Liverpool had all the possession that game.Madrid don’t park the bus they play football just like Liverpool.

    • capone31 6 years ago

Had all the possession but Salah didn’t get a sniff.. what does that tell you? I’m just very nervous, Salah has to have a good game.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Salah didn’t get a sniff because they put 11 men behind the ball,Liverpool don’t tend to fair well agaisnt bunker teams, and you certainly cannot put Madrid in that category. They all have to have a good game, two weeks rest they will be raring to go.

    Champions league

In Liverpool’s 5 previous wins in c’pions lge/euro cup their opponents wore WHITE

    Gladbach ’77, Brugge ’78, Madrid ’81, Roma ’84, MILAN ’05 ALL wore WHITE !!
So Liverpool simply have to win now !!
If only it was that simple?

Seriously though, Looking at Madrid’s campaign they really struggled against teams that play similarly to Liverpool.
Spurs took 4pts off them in the group stage and I thought they were more than a bit fortunate to get the better of Munich in the semi’s.

We should be in for a cracker tonight – Expecting an easy win for Madrid. Liverpool are fortunate to be here, fluked their way through the whole campaign . . . . And at this point watch as @maccathered spontaneously combusts, haha?

    Real Madrid v Liverpool

It’s always a worry when a match is so heavily backed
for a certain outcome as so often it fails To deliver but there’s just no case for backing against goals tonight. The bookies have priced accordingly though and this will be the shortest price for over 2.5 goals in champions league history. A large number of goals scored in Liverpool’s Champions league games have been scored early on or in the last 15-20 mins. Taking that to continue tonight especially given the fire power on display tonight.

The Night Owl sees me touching down in Maracay at 2200 on the hunt for team goals…

    ARAGUA VS. CARABOBO:

It’s the away team that interests me here and although both are in fine form, Carabobo are looking tip-top with a 5 point lead on Zamora at the head of the table.

The visitors have scored a brace in 11 of their last 16 games and most recently have hit 3-4-0-2-3-3 team goals in their last 6 consecutive matches.

They certainly hold the bragging rights over Aragua and have won 5 of the last 6 H2Hs since 2016 having scored at least 2 goals in 4 of the last 7 match-ups.

This is Leg One and although I’m not a huge fan of the first tie I can see Carabobo wanting to make an impact ahead of the return fixture

    One selection to consider:

    CARABOBO OVER 1.5 TGS…13/8

  62. alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Sergio Ramos, man of the match lol

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

In all seriousness, it has spoilt the game

    • dc john boy 6 years ago

Say what’s like about Ramos but he is an awesome defender who has seen & won it all. We all slag him as he gets booked so often but he just does was needs what needs to be done for the team

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

I really rate him too, he’s an old school style defender. Many don’t like him cause he’s playing for Real but if he was in their team, indeed if he was at United, you’d love him. He’s made some goal saving challenging this game too.

Bale has been next level though, Reals player of the season and fair play to the lad, proving all doubters wrong.

  63. 6 years ago

    Kings of Europe.

    HALA

  84. andrzejstarba 6 years ago

Let’s be honest real Madrid only won cause of 2 howlers, absolute howlers by karius. Without those 2 massive mistakes it’s 1-1 and anyone’s game. Madrid were lucky.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

      Yep, it’s a fair comment.

    • davisam 6 years ago

Give it a rest with this luck nonsense, heard it all the way through the tournament. Hardest group, hardest run to the final and won them all. Best club at European competition, fact.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

When it was 1-1 it was all to play for, but Bale + Karius the match deciders.

Real have the strength in depth of squad as was seen with their super sub Bale, Liverpool very reliant on Salah.

  85. alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Seriously tho.. Karius has no excuses whatsoever. The first was awful.. the second one.. no words. Used to be a goalkeeper myself and that was pub football stuff. Get rid of him. Don’t think he’ll play again for Liverpool.

Really bad luck with Salah tho and I do think that was harsh happening is early.

Anyway, Bales goal was a wonder goal can’t take anything away from that.

Well done all winners and commiserations to Liverpool.

  86. heisenberg 6 years ago

Only one winner once Bale came in I cashed in on the inplay done 3.1 and RM -1
    Dilly Dilly ?

    • ged72 6 years ago

Of course you did. Should have told a few of us.

    • heisenberg 6 years ago

Read back an hour I advised next goal is the winner hence the reason I placed my bet when it went 2.1 RM are you doubting me Ged.

    • ged72 6 years ago

Really easy to post winners after the event.

  87. maccathered 6 years ago

Joe Hart is available and an upgrade on that clown that played tonight ?

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Liverpool will spend big now on a goalkeeper,he can’t play again after that.Liverpoo Played ok Ronaldo didn’t get a look in the our goalkeeper was the difference.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

I don’t think he’ll play top flight ever again. Makes me wonder what Mignolet thinks.

Cheers lads, wasn’t convinced with the way Ronaldo finished the last two or three weeks of the season so opted for Benzema who often gets into good positions. Commiserations for Liverpool Macca, who knows how it would’ve turned out had Salah stayed on. The game did appear to change within 5 mins of him leaving the pitch but like you say Karius’ performance was the difference tonight

    • elvis parsley 6 years ago

The currency of success in football is trophy’s .
For all the great football Liverpool and spurs play its no trophy’s again.
But if I had to pay to watch any premiership teams it would be them two, but they have to start winning things to be remembered as great sides.
You could argue Chelsea had a better season as they have some silverware.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Chelsea would swap FA Cup for Champions League every time.

  89. sean ireland 6 years ago

Have to admit though Liverpool have improved a lot this season and are headed in the right direction, 4th in the league and a losers medal each suggests it.

Will put tomorrow’s games up now as off out early doors:

    STJARNAN VS. GRINDAVÍK (2015 KO):

It’s been a pretty positive start for both sides with Stjarnan restoring some early season order after an up and down campaign and Grindavik sitting joint 2nd after 5 games – just 1 point of the surprise early leaders Breidablik.

Some fixtures stand out based on past experiences and this one certainly features heavily in the notebook; the last 10 Urvalsdeild H2H’s read 5-0, 2-2, 3-4, 1-4, 2-2, 2-1, 1-1, 4-0, 4-2, 3-1 and with both teams scoring in every game so far, historic and current form looks to be onside.

Stjarnan have scored 3-2-3-2-2-2-3 team goals in their most recent 7 games whilst the visitors have netted 19 times on the road in their last 8 consecutive away fixtures.

    Two selections to consider:

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…10/11 (Coral)
    ????

    BTTS & OVER 3.5 MGS…7/4 (Coral)
    ??
                      **************************

WILSTERMANN VS. SAN JOSÉ (2000 KO):

No introductions needed for my pet South American team this season – Jorge have just been outstanding on the field and have proved to be a treasure trove of value off the field!

Once again, the bookies had them priced way to big in the 1st leg (around 2/1 in places) and they went on to smash San Jose 2-4 away from home with early goals (again) featuring heavily.

I see no reason for them to deviate from their current flightpath here and with 4-3-3-6-7-5-1-3-2-4-4 TEAM goals in their last consecutive 11 matches, I’m taking them to keep calm and carry on.

888 Sport have by far the biggest early markets on this game and with it there are some huge differences in pricing:

    OVER 3.5 MGS…27/25 (888)
    ????

    OVER 1.5 FHGS…21/20 (888)
    ??

WILSTERMANN WIN BOTH HALVES…21/10 (888) – just evens with 365!
    ?

    Best of luck ?

    • elvis parsley 6 years ago

I would go for tom pope from Burnley in goal if athletico Madrid’s keeper can’t be prized away.
Mahrez is another who would fit into Liverpool’s style of play but he will have to up his work rate.
Nabby keita is already on board.

Basically Liverpool need more bench players who are of top level, they didn’t have any game changers on the bench today, real had bale and he turned the game along with butter fingers of course.

  98. 6 years ago

Not very nice or football related!

  99. HullShaker 6 years ago

Finished 0-0 in Peru – smaller stakes but still disappointing.
