THAT'S January over and I had as much success as the likes of Spurs in the transfer window.
I ended a poor month with a nice 6-1 win on Wednesday and last night my double paid out as a single on over 2.5 goals at Girona with Inter draw no bet void.
It was a quiet night but well done to HullShaker and all the other winners.
Tonight's much busier with an interesting looking Championship game between Preston and Derby while in Scotland it's Kilmarnock v Hearts.
There are top-flight games in Spain, Germany and France as well as lower-league matches in Holland and France so watch out for tips on those games.
As usual I'm concentrating on Saturday's games but I've picked out a treble starting with RB Leipzig who should win at a Hannover side that's lost four out of five. RB romped to a 4-0 win at Dusseldorf last week and this looks an easier test.
Add
both to score at Preston with sides in decent form and both seeing btts land in four of their previous five league games.
Complete the treble with Kilmarnock +1. I reckon Steve Clarke's men will win but both sides have new players so it will take some time to adapt. Both sides have won four out of five but while Killie's only dropped points were in a 0-0 draw at Aberdeen the Jambos were beaten 2-1 at home to Dundee.
Both meetings this season have been 1-0 wins for the away side so it could be tight again so I'm going with Killie on the handicaps.

I haven’t posted in a while as I’ve been away for work so not much time. I have a had a bit of joy with card betting recently so will look to continue with that.
Huesca vs Valladolid
The ref Jose Luis Montero doesn’t have the best stats in la liga but averaging over 5 a game is decent. Valladolid have been one of my favourite teams to bet on for cards and they’ve averaged 3.6 cards in their last 5 games for them alone. Valladolid have received 5 cards in each of their last two away games which is encouraging.
Huesca have avergaed 3 exactly in their last 5 although they tend to pick up a lot more when the game is competitive and I expect it to be against valladolid.
Bets:
Bet365: Bet builder
Over 1 Huesca cards
Over 2 Valladolid cards
20/21 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Over 2 Huesca cards
Over 2 Valladolid cards
7/4 ⭐⭐⭐
Good luck to everyone and let’s hope the snow cancels work.
All bets down. Finishes 6-2 on cards, plenty there but not quite kosher.
Huesca over 1 cards
Valladolid over 2 cards
20/21 LOST
Huesca over 2 cards
Valladolid over 2 cards
7/4 LOST
Funny old game with a very poor Huesca winning 4-0. Oh well we go again.
Plenty I like the look of tomorrow for cards:
Empoli v chievo
Barcelona vs Valencia
Levante vs Getafe
All have decent refs for cards with good avergaes and should be competitive, will post tomorrow morning.
Levante vs getafe prices are poor so may avoid. Same goes for the Bilbao derby.
Good luck all.
I’ll do a write up in plenty of time for Derby’s visit to Preston. We’ve brought in Andy King on loan from Leicester at the 11th hour, and with Ashley Cole yet to start ( he’s only missed 1 game though ) maybe too early to include both or either of them.
This match looks a tough one, but winnable. This run of the next 5 league games are all winnable. We huffed and puffed against Accrington Stanley in the 4th round of the FA cup. A late Waghorn winner sealed the deal but we were playing against 10 men for much of the 2nd half. Derby’s Bogle got a straight red so we have a little right back issue to deal with. I think Stanley had the dream of a giant killing in their system and although Derby dominated possession for the first time in maybe 4 games ( 60% ) we didn’t look like a team 30+ places above them in the league structure. Stanley looked better with 10 on the pitch than Derby did with a man advantage.
Preston have had a bit of a turn around in fortunes of late, a few good wins and are no longer looking at a relegation scrap, momentum could be with them here but up to Billy Davies reign in the North West, Derby would typically have wretched time playing up there. However, that era is long long gone and Derby have had some solid results up that part of England. I think Derby are around 2/1 for a win here and I do think the bookies have this one wrong. We’re now on a 3 match winning run ( a cup replay, a league win followed my another cup win ), so we do have a bit of momentum. The bookies must have one eye on how Derby perform over the next 2 months to see if last year trend bucking improvement on the previous 3 or 4 seasons over Feb/March pan out.
Derby never got a decent central defender in or cover up top in case Jack Marriott gets injured, but an experienced central midfielder Andy King in from Leicester on loan could see Derby sure up a little in the centre circle. I hope so, teams have been dominating us and that is where our problems start.
I suppose the common sense bet would either be on a Derby double result ora btts. Unders 2.5 total goals is quite likely. I just can’t see this being a cricket score. Derby need to win a couple of games ugly. One of those matches that just has no flow or life in it, just one mistake in amongst 90 minutes of monotony. I think a couple of matches away from home need to be won like that, it shows character. We’re still 6th, we could overtake Middlesbrough and maybe start losing a little on Leeds and Norwich. As I said, all 5 of the next matches are winnable. They look a lot easier than Derby’s last 5 matches.
I need sleep, I’ll pull some stats after some shuteye.
FYI, my first bet posted teatime yesterday ground out a small 25% win – at least I hope they won. I tipped Gremio to beat Sao Luiz in Brazil, last I looked – Gremio were 3 nil up.
I’ll find another tomorrow hopefully.
I’m tired, sorry about my grammar mistakes. I need sleep.

Morning All, hoping for a better day today, yesterday was a washout.
WSW v Newcastle Jets
Bottom of the table clash here with two teams who have had desperate seasons. Personally, I don’t think the Jets ever recovered from losing Andrew Nabbout last season, he was such an attacking energy for them. As for WSW, they actually play well and score goals, it’s just been one of those seasons where anything that can go against them, does go against them.
I expect this to be a fairly open game as both teams need the win to harbour any hopes of a top 6 play off position. Goals and cards will hopefully be in abundance and I have mentioned before how corner happy WSW are.

Scored 2,2,3 in their most recent games. Almere are poor on the road not having won in their last 5 games on their travels. Their last games goals conceded do not make great reading either 3,2,2,5,3,6. GL all today!

Interested to know which bets you were on as you are showing figures down from previous figure?
Been a profitable month and a lot of hard work gone into finding those winners so difficult to see my name put against losing figures – particularly if you are only on ‘selected’ games!
If you staked £40 per bet over the last 7-8 days you would be around £400 in profit and it wasn’t a bad return in the previous 3 weeks.

Burton111. I Like them overs trebles mate they look spot on
Do we have any Hibernian fc fans on here? I’m looking for a bit of advice- i think there may be value in them getting into the top 6 at odds of 13/8. It looks a match with St Johnstone on paper for 6th spot. St Johnstone are 4/11.
Looking at hibs transfers i think they have done well considering they are managerless at the moment. That Reading striker they brought in is a very very good signing imo its just what they needed. I know they lost a few Ambrose and the young defender to injury but i can see them kicking on and looking at St Johnstone upcoming fixtures they could lose a few on the bounce and could really knock there confidence.
Any thoughts from fans or anyone would be appreciated! Thanks.
I’m not a Hibs fan but their inconsistency would put me off betting them too finish in the top 6. They’ve won back to back games just 3 times this season. Lost their 2 best centre halves and manager as you said. I’d avoid it 👌
At the moment I wouldn’t take Hibs over St Johnstone who are playing well.
I’d at least wait until they appointed their new boss.
I agree McNulty looks a good signing but they’ve lost Maclaren and Boyle is long-term injured.
I said to someone on here last week that we were far too short a price for top 6
There are 5 points in it and we do have a tough run of games coming up, that said, we also have a much easier run in. Hibs have Aberdeen and Celtic in there next two matches so will do well to get anything from those games. The match in Perth at the end of the month will be crucial
I actually don’t think its a bad bet, we are a good team though and our consistency at beating teams in the bottom half of the table is one of the best in the league, not to mention our record v Hibs
No manager though and a host of new players wont aide Hibs
Mr h, mr f and greg much appreciated for your thoughts. My gut is screaming to bet it and thats when im usually right so sticking to my guns, but i will wait for the new manager appointment before, hoping its before tomorrows game as hibs if win and with celtic playing so well it could be down to 2 points and odds will have shortened, although hibs beating aberdeen will be very difficult i know.
Has anyone got any thoughts on who is best appointment for the job?
Apologies for the questions i just really value the thoughts off this site.
I think Hibs will regret losing Lennon even if form has been a little disappointing.
Alan Stubbs is being linked after doing well before but he had a bad time at St Mirren.
Everyone reckons they should go for Steve Clarke but I can’t see him leaving for another Scottish club unless it was Celtic.
imo hibs will be lucky to take a point from their next 2 fixtures while st johnstone will pick up at least 3. if you fancy hibs that strongly then the price will go up after those fixtures. its a big ask with a 5pt gap just now. st johnstone are consistent while hibs are mince and only lift themselves for games against celtic, rangers and hearts, that’s why their manager is no longer there, he was constantly ripping into the players for not producing more often.
did anyone watch the game in oz this morning? both bet 365 and flashscores have the first jets penalty as being missed, but they haven’t paid out on it. did he miss it and score the rebound?
Yes the penalty was missed and the rebound was put in the net
cheers
I was on them Sean. i did not see the first one, I am still waiting on 365 to pay out on any of them mate.
Just checked again , they have paid out on the 7/1 shot. still waiting on the 18/1
The first penalty was definitely missed and the subsequent rebound was scored by the penalty taker. I watched the game – very entertaining too
same here cocker, although its not that they haven’t paid out on the first one yet, they have actually marked it as a loser. ive fired them an email, because that isn’t how its worked before. hes missed the penalty it doesn’t matter that hes scored the rebound, the penalty has been missed

Lille v Nice
Lille are the favourites here and rightly so, they’re on some run winning their last 5 games in a row. Nice are no mugs though and have scored in their last 5 games. This H2H fixture usually sees a few goals and the most recent 2 games saw both teams scoring.
I think Nice can score and there’s value in both teams to score.

I’ve been having a wee bit of success with inplay corners betting… But interested in some of the corner specialist (bully and co’s)thoughts on impact both red cards and goals have on these markets.
I’ve seen plenty of red cards nullify goals in games and I’ve seen goals nullify corners if dominant team goes in front, similarly if dominant team goes behind can lead to loads of corners, like Gent during the week with 22 in one game 😂
Is above a fair reflection?
The inplay market typically follows the same pattern in terms of odds regardless of events, which means there may be some value on occasion….
Any impact on number of corners after red cards?
Any other thoughts? Cheers
Corners mate from 80 mins until full Time is a market I like – it’s usually over 1.5 corners at 5/6
Great when you have a tight game and a Team
Chasing a win or an equaliser
Cheers Greg, I’ve had a bit of success on that exact market but as you say, it depends on circumstances. Thing I like is that odds are generally the same regardless of circumstances which is why I think there is a wee bit of scope to take advantage 👍

mixture of cashing out before games end so not getting full profit, and timing of bets posted, i try get every bet on but sometimes i miss some due to work, months i miss more winners than losers and vice versa, 40 only go on the 4 and 5 star/points others is 20. and as ive said before its only my take on your bets so if i cant get bets on for 1 week it will only be 3 weeks stats.
To be honest Kelly, you (or whoever else) can do what they like with anything I post on here and I hope they do well from them but unless your going to put a fair reflection up of ALL bets, then I’d sooner you not put my name to them!
Not being funny about it and hope it doesn’t come across that way but I work hard to carve out bets that don’t come easy so it’s a bit of a kick in the balls when someone uses your name to publish how well (or badly) they’ve done on random games they’ve dipped into when they don’t reflect a true picture.
Like Greg, I’ve never found the need to keep stats totals and found I’ve always done pretty well through the years – my betting and bank balance would tell me if I was ever losing money over time! More than anything, it’s a time issue and I struggle as it is to get in the research and reason out posts whilst doing a job that takes up every second of the waking day along with family stuff.
When we moved to the new way of posting, I have tracked every bet (and +/-) for transparencies sake and intend to carry on doing so but to be honest, anyone can track totals themselves…all I’d say is either track all selections or none at all!
Best of luck Kelly and all with your picks tonight 👍

I fancy Derby to win tonight at 21/10 with bet365.
the btts price – same company is just 8/13 which makes sense. 17 of 18 Derby away games have seen Derby concede, 86% of Prestons home games have seen btts come in.

Double: Corner in the first 10min in the Spuds & Cardiff games (27/20). Same thing in the Leicester & City games (3/2). Over 2.5 goal double in the Leverkusen & Eintracht games (13/10).
UFC picks: Bibulatov/Santos double (evens). Ramos (10/11). Griffen/Maia double (13/10). Assuncao (11/8). Walker by KO/TKO/DQ/Sub (13/10).
6 Nations: Antepost picks: I’m on Wales to finish in the top 2 (11/8). Stockdale top tryscorer (4/1). Over 2.5 converted tournament drop goals (11/10). Will always go for the Yellow card market in the big games. (8/11) in the Wales/France game which are great odds. (4/6) in the Irish/Eng game which I’ll take but you could double it up something if you fancy. This wkends double: Wales +5.5 & Ireland win (17/20). As usual (And best practice), gonna wait till in-play to see the conditions and pattern of play but looking at Wales total points if it gets to around 12/13 point mark. I expect the defenses to dominate but will see how it goes.
Super Rugby antepost picks: Sharks to win the SA conference (12/1). I’m surprised they’re priced up as the biggest outsider & worth a shot for a team that won the Currie Cup. Lions have lost alot of players & bookies don’t seem to have picked this up. I have inherent bias though as the Sharks are my side but do your research & read the plethora of previews out there, you should come to a similar conclusion. Rebels to make the playoffs (11/10). Blues to miss the playoffs (evens). Waratahs to miss the playoffs (6/4). Sharks to make the playoffs (5/2). Sunwolves most losses (Evens). Crusaders to win the NZ conference (23/20). Brumbies to win the Aus conference (2/1). Looking at a couple other markets & will try pop up some tips before each round. All bet365. Enjoy

Haha was waiting for you to pipe up, chill man its 2-1 now loads time left
Well they bottled it…shocking!
Derby look good value for a win tonight. The first half started with the momentum all with Preston. They’ve racked up a bag full of corners but their final product has been lacking. Preston played their best footie in the first 20-25 mins but this final 20 mins, I just see Derby playing with more purpose. Preston are making silly little ball control mistakes and Derby are attacking. Derby’s Wilson has hit the bar and post. Preston must feel fortunate that the half has finished all level. I think Derby will feel hard done to. If The 2nd half starts how the Rams finished the first, I think Derby will break the deadlock.
Derby are still 11/5 to win this game with bet365.. Its coming !!
FYI: FC Twente are handing Helmond sport a new one. I erred on the side of caution and decided against backing them -1. Shame, with 83 mins on the clock Its FC Twente 4 – Helmond Sport 1.
I thought the Derby game would be one of these typical stuck in the mud games you often see midweek away from home. It is everything but a boring game. I think even the neutrals will be enjoying this one. Can’t wait for the 2nd half to start.
FRANCE LEAGUE 2
Loads of cards in this league tonight, every game 4 or more, some 8/9!!
Could be a one off but might be worth a small stake Acca on all overs next week

Still a few doubts over plenty of the English lower league games and a similar picture at Gigg despite volunteers doing a cracking job clearing the hallowed mud after last weeks ding-dong and the subsequent weather!
Will keep this brief for now and add tomorrow – to be fair it’s looking milder after another cold snap overnight:

Shame about the N.Irish game but I took a chance with the weather, returns dropped massively but I’ll take a 3/1 return everyday 👍
Well done all with a winner
Nice one mate
Well done.
Well done Jamesy sir – tough card, great win 👍
Poor show tonight, WD any winners, onwards and upwards
Awful second half for Derby at Deepdale.. Preston had so much time on the ball and chances were plenty but were wasteful. Derby barely got a sniff in the 2nd half. Preston started that 2nd half way better than they ended the first, Derby started the 2nd half way below how we finished the 1st. A point is a point I guess, but that 2nd half was not good enough to seal the points. Its unbeaten in 4 now for Derby but I’m far from impressed. 0-0. The 3rd for Derby of this campaign.
My bet goes bang on the 2nd day. So tomorrow I’ll start again.
Had a mixed night
