IT'S D-Day for my Scottish Cup Super Singles – the main being the biggest bet I've posted on the site.
I have 15 points on a 9-10 fivefold and it's not for everyone so if you don't like it leave it alone. There is also 3pts on the -1 handicap.
So my eyes will be focused on the games north of the border. Those 18pts came from my allocation on Thursday and Friday so I've got the usual Saturday selections and again Scottish Cup games feature heavily.
Let's hope the weather holds and we don't see any more call-offs like Cowdenbeath v Rangers. Bets on that game will be void with the match rescheduled for January 30.

You’ve replied as if you didn’t comprehend what you read. Anyway, if one selection loses it shouldn’t just count as if there was no impact on the points tally because clearly £25 is a lot more than will be lost on a 15 point bet and hiding behind ambiguity like that would be snakey.
Paul if you don’t like the bet don’t back it and you move on with no worries about losses or profit. Nobody who uses these pages is forced to back any highlighted bets by Mr F or any the tipsters. Personally I’m not backing it and that’s the luxury of having a choice so try do the same.
Tbh if you had any knowledge of Scottish football and the sides involved in each tie then it’s a sound bet but like any bet its a gamble and can win or lose. We’ll see how it sits come 7pm tomorrow night but I’ll be speechless if all 5 don’t come away victorious quite comfortably.
My final word on this to you is stats are based on points – not pounds.
It’s you who doesn’t understand this. Also most people who use the moneyback concession will keep their bets to £25 if it’s at McBookie.
For many people 15pts will be £15.
And as I said you’re hiding behind the ambiguity of points and pounds with this offer and your stake, I can’t help if you don’t get my level of thinking.

It seems to me that you have staked 15 points on this acca which is fair enough but I’m confused. If one of them fails will you be claiming you get your 15 points back because of the moneyback offer? I assume that if Mr F actually places cash on his selections, its likely his 15 points is more than £25 so there would be no money back if it loses by 1 selection. Correct?
In any case, I don’t think it would be absolutely shocking to see Inverness fail to beat East Kilbride for example but the bet looks solid enough although current odds of 0.69/1 make it a pretty unappealing acca for my liking.

Both teams haven’t done any transfer business this window yet. Vitesse only had 3 clean sheets in 17 and only 1 clean sheet at home. They only failed to score in 1 home game and that was against Ajax. 6 of their 8 home games saw BTTS.

Last 3 h-to-h games (in 2018, 2017, and 2013) have seen a total of 1 GOAL shared between the sides (2 nil nils, and a 1-0 Liberec win in 2018).

Seems to be a rarity to find card markets over in Portugal but 2 games involving top sides been priced up at various bookmakers tonight and it is the repeated fixture from Cup action in midweek which accumulated 80+ Booking Points that catches my eye. The FairPlay table doesn’t give much eye catching info as Guimaraes rank low but still average 2 team cards a game and each of there last 3 home league fixtures boast 20+ BP per team whilst this feat has been achieved in Benfica last 7 aways in the league. Almost tempted not to post my bet/tip/super single 🤣… as any bet I’ve posted so far (about 5) have all gone in the bin.
This is because I tend to favour longer odds which will obviously have a much higher risk factor.
I see everyone and their dug has posted about the SS bet this week so I thought I’d share my bet and view on it.
Firstly I’d like to say I’ve only been on the site about a month but the banter/tips and more recently the debates are class.
It’s clear to see some of the regulars put a lot of research into their tips and it’s well appreciated. Clearly everyone has an opinion and they vary with every game but surely that’s what keeps it entertaining.. the unknown.
Football is a funny old game. The bookies complie their odds based on the factors they know at the time but there are many things that can effect the game. Weather, poor refs, team changes, injuries, players under performing, teams raising their game for the big teams etc.
So it’s with all this in mind that we try to pit our wits against the bookie. Surely we are all on the same team when it comes to bashing the bookie 👊
If you don’t like a tip that’s fine just move onto the next one instead of criticising it.

I quite fancy Reading on a draw no bet basis at Derby tomorrow (11/4 @ 888) Derby had a gruelling 120 minutes against Southampton on Wednesday night, players cramping up towards the end. In addition haven’t won (apart from penalties) in their past 4 games.
In contrast Reading are much improved under their new manager. Put in a good cup showing at old trafford and will be buoyed by beating Forest 2-0 last time out. Not to mention they’ve been preparing for Derby all week.

Over to boxing. Manny Pacquiao is back this weekend against Adrien Broner and I can’t see anything other than a points victory for pac man. Yes he’s 40 years old but styles make fights, and Pacquiao’s speed and activity is all wrong for Broner, who is a lazy, inactive, defensive fighter that’s generally happy to survive against top level opponents.
Broner has an excellent chin though and has been in with much bigger punchers than Pacquiao, never being knocked out.
You can get around evens in various places but this price will come in before fight time.

Quarter-final time and both sides have looked great throughout the SPYC Tournament having progressed courtesy of 8-0 and 3-0 victories in the last round.
Whilst I’d argue Corinthians are the better side, I’d counter that with Gremio having had a tougher route through to this stage but still making the grade; the two are certainly amongst the most established youth outfits in SA and have plenty of history in this cup.

my rolling acca is often done when I see it in-play. I rarely post the odds and sods at ridiculously low odds on the overs 0.5’s because most people are not interested until my pot starts to grow. I’ll pick up a few here and there usually in the silent hours and when there’s something a few hours away that I fancy, I do post. I do post shortly after dropping on some in-play bets because I see a game that I fancy. If I posted, then bet, chances are i’d miss the price.
The last couple of semi-juicy bank builders, I have shared as soon as I’ve been able to. The Australian game that kicked off when I slept and the Benfica game that I totally forgot about until 22 mins in.
My aim is to share worthwhile stuff that people can follow, but taking in-play prices works against me with the timeframe.

I understand. When i’m grinding out from a £10, its slow and boring and people don’t want to know about the 1/25’s, so I just get my head down and go for it. Last night I made a few quid on Derby’s penalty’s, missed out placing a bet on the final Keogh penalty, but things like that, you have no chance of posting in time because the window opening is so short.
On a separate note, this double I’m still looking into, it is still on the cards, I’m just waiting to see what Mr F thinks. Maybe he sees something I’ve not. I will post the tip up, its happening, I just want to make doubly sure and if an extra variable gets thrown in the mix whilst I’m still checking a few things out, then I’ll include it.
For those few that think I don’t contribute, I’ve always been active in posting – or attempting to post. This past few months, I’ve written and submitted maybe 6+ match reports and for various reasons, the thread has not been created. I’ve even posted my match summary in the daily thread, hit the post button, and watched it disappear. Its soul destroying. I don’t know why it happens, but I’m trying to figure out if its a browser issue at my end to find a work around.
I’ve not had a peek yet at the South American footie that usually comes alive between midnight and 2am, but if I see something, I will post. I’m also micro-managing some real life issues and for me, betting is a little distraction from the monotony of my daily stuff.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with posting your £10 starting challenge bets, people don’t have to follow them. I do see where boomshackle is coming from. will keep an eye out for your double (if you go for it). I think the point being made to anyone on the site is unless a winner has been posted as a tip on forum beforehand, don’t post the winner.

The whole point is to post from the beginning so people can join in with a tenner and see where they get to. Post from the start or don’t post at all.
My betting challenge was posted in-depth a good 3 years back and is still available to those that wish to start their own. I never started that thread all those years back to be a focal point to have people bet on anything and everything I fancied, but the thread quickly turned into that. These little bits and bobs I’m posting is proof that if you have a simple plan and get your own slow burner off to a decent start, the sky is your limit. I’ll never expect anyone to follow me by throwing a few hundred on a short odds almost certain event, but there’s no stopping anyone from starting from the beginning with the small bets I’m finding.

Your reasoning is sound and O’Neill could have a massive impact – I’d like to see evidence of if first.
MON is a fine manager who for some reason gets a rough time on some social platforms but his club record is above average. Leicester, Celtic and what I think is his most under rated period was at Aston Villa who he improved no end and finished 6th 3yrs running. Given the fact he was under the well documented financial restraints of Randy Lerner it was a stellar job he done. Forest are in good hands with Saint Martin and I think they’ll kick on and finish strongly

Nottingham Forest. They’ve just made use of their contractual obligation on the ” short stay only ” component for the managers parking space by sacking Aitor Karanker. When I read about it, I thought somebody at the City ground was smoking too much Jamaican Old Holborn. I’ve made no secret of the fact that he is a terrific manager, probably their best in the last 15 years and he’s brought well, they’re pointing in the right direction and hovering just off the playoffs. Reminiscent of when Birmingham sacked Rowett for Zola – we all know what happened there.. Only this new element of the equation is much different. They’ve appointed Martin O’neil. Kind of like sacking Pochetino and replacing with Guardiola. O’neil helped write Forest’s legacy and even though they’ve done nothing for 38 years, it’s there on paper, 2 European cups. He cut his teeth under Clough, and at Forest, O’neil is a God !!’
You know there’s no love lost between Derby and Forest, but I happen to believe O’neil steering a ship that was already pointing in the right direction is a masterstroke. I know the usual honeymoon period happens with a new manager coming in, or it can go the other way, but Forest have not signed a new manager who’s first job is to stop them hurtling towards the trapdoor, its to get them in the top 6, OR top 2 !! I hate to say it but if anyone can do this, O’neil is your man. Most of the dead wood in the Forest squad is gone, there’s time left in the transfer window to do some business – if they need to and you’ll put your house on it that the board will back him financially.
O’neil has proved himself as a player and manager at Club and country level, and a string of 4 or 5 wins and he could be within striking distance of the top 2.
Forest play Bristol city at home, there’s 1 place separating them but it’s O’neil’s debut game as manager. It’s 29/20 for the Forest win. Forest have the likes of Grabben + others to put Bristol to the sword. Bristol have played well, but I don’t think they’re at last seasons level. Forest are already making progress on last years points tally. Next Saturday, they play Wigan at home again. That price is just over evens. If they win tomorrow, that price will freefall.
Forest will throw the kitchen sink at Bristol tomorrow, every player will want to impress and I’d be surprised if the City ground won’t be a sell out.
Mr F has also pointed out Roy Keane will be his number 2.

Quarter-final time and both sides have looked great throughout the SPYC Tournament having progressed courtesy of 8-0 and 3-0 victories in the last round.
Whilst I’d argue Corinthians are the better side, I’d counter that with Gremio having had a tougher route through to this stage but still making the grade; the two are certainly amongst the most established youth outfits in SA and have plenty of history in this cup.
Corinthians look a good price for the win and although you can get around 4/5, I think Gremio will have a thing or two to say about this game and whilst markets are fairly limited with most bookies, I’ve found a couple of bets and prices that really appeal from William Hill – especially given the last 4 H2H’s finished 3-1, 2-1, 1-4 and 2-1:

Is there any reason that derby are such short odds against reading at 3/4? I know they played 120 mins on Wednesday but surely that’s a good price?
Honestly. Not a clue. Maybe the morale boost from another cup scalp might cancel out the extra 4 days rest that Reading have had. But also, Reading have been notoriously tough opponents for Derby to beat when on paper, its been a rubber stamp Derby win. Wilson and Huddlestone back in the side along with Bogle give Derby a bit more about them that has been lacking this past few league games, but even though Derby really need to get back to winning ways because after a very tough run of games this past few weeks, ” on paper ” we have some very winnable games. If Derby can get the points at 3pm kick off, we could kick on and have a very interesting few weeks, But I’ll be honest, I’m cautious that Reading have regularly tripped us up.

Apparently Lampard is/has been in regular contact with Cole who was released by LA Galaxy in November. the biggest game in the NLS so far this season, its derby time, only 120 miles between us and bath city, 3rd plays 1st! we’ve sold out our allocation of 1450 tickets, and plenty more travelling and will be in the not all ticket home areas.
gonna be a tough test this one, they’re on their own good run and have snuck up the table recently. they are nowhere near as prolific in front of goal as we are though. then again, who is at the moment??
despite not playing for a fortnight its been a busy two weeks at plainmoor, we’ve been giving players new contracts left right and centre. the loan players from bristol city have all be confirmed as ours until the season ends, and the fans have been going crazy for today’s match!
so, the form, TUFC 10 (ten) wins on the trot, scoring 3s and 4s regularly, 31 scored in that run, 7 conceded.
bath city are unbeaten in 7, five wins, two draws. 14-2 up on goal difference.
so it looks like we can’t stop scoring, but they have a mean defence. will we have the nous to beat them, grind them down over the 90 minutes. we should be fitter and fresher being full time. i’m very hopeful of the win, but am taking nothing for granted here. our support should make it like a home game atmosphere wise? will bath set out to nullify us, will they be able to?
so i’m looking for value here. 5/4 away win really appeals after being huge favourites for every game for ages recently. 100/30 for -1 looks good too, but my recommend bet is torquay to win the second half at 17/10

County are on some run, they’ve won their last 5 games in a row and their last 10 games resulting in 8 wins and 2 draws. They’re in excellent form, and I watched them convincingly beat my beloved local team Altrincham no less than THREE times in as many weeks over the festive period – all to nil. They are very strong in defence. This run has seen County climb the table to third place and they really do look like promotion candidates, and see Manager Jim Gannon awarded Manager of the Month for December.
Their opponents York are rather at the other end of the spectrum. York have a shocking away record in the NLN, winning just 1 game in their last 10 – the rest losses. They’ve on a run of 5 consecutive away games and today is going to be a real tough test for them in sunny Stockport.
They’ve been filming for Peaky Blinders in Stockport these past few weeks which concluded yesterday, and I don’t see anything other than a mobbing for the visitors. Conclusion; a comprehensive County win.

Liverpool have not lost at home in premier league for over 30 games now and should continue their winning run against Palace. Even though Liverpool have injuries in defence they are managing games better this season and not letting many goals in. Zaha, Townsend & co are quality players though and can punish liverpool.
Crystal palace look good for a goal or two but I think Liverpool will come out on top. Harry kane’s injury means he is out of race for top scorer and thats where Salah comes in. Salah is hungry for goals and a striker should be hungry for goals. Salah has been striker role this season with Firmino playing behind him amd Mane out wide.
Salah’s game-winning penalty against Brighton last week was his 14th league goal of this season. Nobody has more.

Any advice on the following ?
I lost my job on Friday the 21st of December.
My job being sold to me by the owner as a Finance Manager.
After working for the company for two months my contract has been terminated, the 80 year old owners reason (that after two months he has come to a conclusion that I am over qualified for the position I had been offered. The owner was very apologetic and has paid me to the end of January. (Am I supposed to be thankful for this ?). Now I am really struggling to find employment as an Accountant.
If I do not find work ASAP I am going to be selling the house etc.
Anyway with the very strong positive words behind the Scottish 5 Fold I put on £1k today. I am now so fed up with gambling that I need to stop betting. Backing out of control is not the brightest thing to do, when S@@T happens I tend to do something like this.
The person who did the job before myself got sacked in August having stolen up to £200k out of the company due to online gambling.
The company accountant in the company is 76 and he trained up this employee and he gave them total control of paying the companies suppliers by internet banking. Inputting the information and authorising the payments that were sent to the bank (the person set up an account in her name and when she paid suppliers she would pay herself as one of the suppliers). Posting the £ as if she had paid the supplier.
When the person was on holiday in August a supplier phoned up the company accountant. They asked if the company had cashflow problems because no payment had been received for six months, the start of an investigation that has concluded with the employee carrying out theft to a large scale.
No financial controls and total control for the employee has given them the opportunity to carry out this situation. Also the companies external Accountants who did an annual audit did not pick up on what has been happening over the last five years.
Another situation that gambling in todays society can be so addictive and extremely dangerous.
Not sure what advice it is your looking for, but I’d offer up “only ever bet what you can afford to lose”. In your situation it doesn’t seem as if you’ve done that today and now there could be massive repercussions. I hope it works out for you somehow

The rails came off my rolling bet early this morning at £643 on the Sydney game. I didn’t fancy the overs 0.5’s price @ 1/33 and I somehow stayed awake, I took the in-play 2/11 on offer for the overs 1.5. Sydney had the lions share of the game, got a late 1st half goal, then late on, the visitors got a red card, and I guess that was always a recipe waiting to happen for the game to not get going any more. It finished 1 nil.
I shall restart sometime over the weekend, it is a bit draining and a lot of hard work in a short space of time, but I will attempt to keep you guys a little better informed on what games I’m looking at.

Restarting my £10 challenge tonight, early on I’ll be taking a few slightly bigger risks and hopefully get it off to a flier.
