Top Football Tips

MAN CITY went goal crazy but it was PSG who drove me crazy as they downed the Super Single.

I was confident about a big City win but doubled them -2 with PSG -2 Asian – unfortunately making that my biggest single of the year.

In hindsight I should have just lumped on City although 9-0 was a few more than most of us expected – although I've seen two bets of Kevin de Bruyne to score first and 9-0 at 375-1. Not sure about how the second leg at Burton will go but Pep's playing a back three of me, Greg and HullShaker.

Well done to all those who won backing City and at least I was consoled by the Top Treble landing for the second time in three days thanks to Real Madrid, Getafe and Rennes not to lose.

There are slim pickings on Thursday with really just three Spanish Cup games and one Portuguese league match to look at.

The Spanish games are of course two legs so that's makes them more difficult to call. Latest ties are Athletic Bilbao v Sevilla, Real Betis v Real Sociedad, Levante v Barcelona while in Portugal it's Portimonense v Braga.

Bilbao have picked up a bit and are unbeaten in four while Sevilla are seven without a loss. They'll be happy to keep it tight and use home advantage in the second leg so a draw is possible here.

Betis are unbeaten in seven at home ahead of a meeting with Sociedad who won 2-0 at Real Madrid last time out. That was a big surprise and Betis could edge this one thanks to a superb home record.

Barcelona will stroll to victory – it was 5-0 in the league a few weeks ago – unless the big guns such as Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez so like so many games this midweek teams need to be seen before having a bet.

Braga have never lost to Portimonense and six of seven meetings have gone over 2.5 goals. Scott has posted a members bet from the game and overs looks the call and I've decided to take that in a double with the Barca game – but if you can wait until teams are revealed before taking the double.

Remember to look at welovebetting for their tips and video chat.

    Aussie W-league

Not a league I normally dabble in but there may be a couple of decent bets on the women’s game this morning between Sydney FC and WSW.

Sydney are absolutely flying at home this season with 3 big wins and 13 goals scored in their last 3 at home. I have noticed in these matches that they are slow to start with the goals avalanche coming in the 2nd half.

WSW conversely are abysmal full stop. 8 goals conceded and 3 losses in the last 3 away, and propping up the table with a solitary 1 point.

Fancy over 3.5 MGS here but will wait 10-15 mins and hope there are no goals so it gets closer to evens. Same goes for Sydney team goals over 2.5.

But for now – highest scoring half 2nd Sydney FC @ evens

    Good luck

    • andymac1980 5 years ago

Think I’ll join you on this. 0-0 at 20mins gone so better value now at 11/10 over 3.5gls and evens for Sydney 2.5tgls.

    • GigiKenzo 5 years ago

Wolves have been decent against the top teams but the Liverpool win seems to have given city a new breath. They look completely different and they will have too much for wolves at home this time. City -1

    • maccathered 5 years ago

New breath against lower league opposition. That win against Liverpool was narrow.

    • mr h 5 years ago

Interested too hear this……and also Mr F’s reasoning being Braga possibly resting players while 2nd in the table and travelling too a Portimonense side that beat Benfica 2-0 last week at home

    • sean567 5 years ago

portimonense are unbeaten their last 7 at home and have beaten both Benfica and sporting Lisbon in those games, I really cant see braga resting anyone

    • mr h 5 years ago

Same here Sean, maybe Mr F thinks it’s a cup game other than that there’s no way they’re resting players tonight

BTTS & Overs for me in the Portugal game.

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

I’m aware it’s a league game – Braga’s next game on Tuesday is in the cup.

    • mr h 5 years ago

Any reason on why they would rest players then? Hopefully this comment won’t get deleted 👀

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

It was something I read because they’ve had a busy schedule but happy to accept there’s no reason for it.
I’ll go with overs and take Scott’s bet.
Don’t put up crappy or mildly offensive jokes and they won’t get deleted.
Admin need to be careful and will wipe out stuff they get complaints about.

    • mr h 5 years ago

The world’s went too serious 🙊 no offensive language or swear words were used. Just have too settle for the mundane drivel between the Liverpool and United fans I suppose or when WATP is posted. Enjoy yer day

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

It was offensive to some people and wasn’t that funny either.
Also you should know we have a zero tolerance for sectarian comments.

    • maccathered 5 years ago

City have played 2 games recently winning by cricket scores. In those two games Pep should have rested key players and he didn’t.Wolves will have had a full week to prepare for this game and make no mistake they will be organised. If you look at Wolves recent result at Wembley v Spurs they limited spurs to very little in the way of chances and when Spurs did score Wolves hit back and won the game( with ease i might add).Wolves also drew away at Arsenal and beat Chelsea. So what we know about Wolves is they raise their game 90% against the big boys, given it’s against City and Wolves capability of limiting the big sides also Man Citys recent plights against lower league opposition and the fact City will have to reajust to playing better opposition i think taking Wolves not to lose is a great bet.

    • mr h 5 years ago

I think your drunk too back any team too win at the Etihad. City have won 26 of their last 30 league games at home since the start of last season scoring 98 & conceding 24. City all day long

    • mr h 5 years ago

Apologies….backing them not too lose 👐

    • maccathered 5 years ago

You could of said that when they lost to palace at home.

    • maccathered 5 years ago

Thats your opinion and of course i wouldn’t put anyone off backing City.I will add though even City will know this is a tough game and as i have already said City have to make the adjutment to playing a better side, not always easy.

    • mr h 5 years ago

Macca I hope yer right, rather see Liverpool win the league than City 👍🏻 only concern for Liverpool would be an injury to VVD in the run in

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Pep made 8 changes for the Rotherham game and rested some key players last night including Aguero.
City’s squad is so good it’s hard to tell when they are weakened.

    • kyle b 5 years ago

Was looking primarily at corners last night and this game defo stood out, gonna wait on confirmation of lineups first as prices normally remain consistent on corners. Will be on same probably or similar, GL Pal!

    • kyle b 5 years ago

365 normally offer more corner markets very near to match time an inplay Dolky, maybe worth a look after 8

    • dolky123 5 years ago

Kyle b. U with paddy power bet 365 not got team corners
      For this game.

    • kyle b 5 years ago

Yeah I have an account there, Sky have same price as PP on the market if you have them.

Alternative could be to back Race to 5 corners, it is more risky but price will reflect that. This market will be available inplay at 365 and probably just before kickoff.

  11. tigerman1 5 years ago

Just read somewhere that Portimonense’s best player (Nakajima) is missing due to injury. The second-best striker (Martinez) is also a doubt.

I wonder how much this will impact the game…

    • mr h 5 years ago

Portimonense – In their last match Nakajima and J.Martinez were out with injuries but now J. Martines will return to the side.

Probable lineups Portimonense: R.Ferreira – Tormena, Jadson, Possignolo, Manafa – Pedro Sa, Ewerton, Dener, Paulinho, L.Fernandes – J.Martinez

Braga – team news, they are expected to keep the same team that played those two wins, because they will not have the likes of Matheus, Xadas, Esgaio and Ferreira due to injuries.

Probable lineups SC Braga: Tiago Sa – Goiano, Viana, R.Silva, Sequeira – Eduardo, Fransergio, Claudemir, Horta – D.Sousa, Paulinho

Apparently Martinez will return while Braga will still be missing their injured players

    Afternoon gents,

Quick post and a rare Spanish bet from me taken from the CDR…

    LEVANTE VS. BARCELONA (2030 KO):

In the last decade, there have been 18 H2H’s between these two and a huge 10 of those have seen a minimum of 5 match goals with the most recent two seeing 5 (Barca 5-0 in December) and 9 (Levante 5-4 in May)…not bad eh.

    But!

I reckon this one may well not follow suit, for a start-off, Levante aren’t the pushover they once were and even more notably, Barca (both sides to be fair) are set to make a raft of changes including Messi, Alba, Pique, Rakitic and possibly Suarez.

Bullseye has already flagged (sorry) the suggestion of corners and I agree – couple it with both sides scoring which is a very real probability and you have a decent little platform to put together a betbuilder:

    BTTS & OVER 8 CORNERS…1.16/1
    (Bet365 – Betbuilder)
    🌟🌟🌟

    Best of luck 👍

Anyone looking for a bank top up should get stuck into the 4/9 on Roberto Bautista Agut to beat Andy Murray in the Aus Open first round (Monday night) Having been out the game so long, and with his refurbished hip, there is no way he can be competitive against a top 20 player. He’ll do well just to complete the match. RBA will start a helluva a lot shorter than 4/9 when the market wakes up to this.

    • mr h 5 years ago

Baldy I was looking for prices this morning when I seen the draw, I’m with you on this one 👍🏻

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

No way Murray can win – in fact I wouldn’t be surprised if he pulled out.
And anyone backing him should make sure they do so with a bookie who pays out if he ends the match early.
Bookies have all sorts of different rules so worth checking.

  21. nathanufton 5 years ago

@mr-fixit , Can you shoot me an email link that works for me to try submitting my match report. This past 5 or so times I’ve posted and sent something through has just disappeared and its a bit soul destroying.
I expect to be sending something in regards Leeds V Derby for tomorrows kick off no later than midday. My early thoughts are btts and for lots of reasons it might be wise to steer clear of the win/draw/win market.
Derby rested players ahead of the Southampton cup game and a spirited 10 minute spell from the rams saw us come back from 2 down and sunk to the brink of a Derby winner that was missed just 15 seconds before the final whistle. Derby have dropped some points over the Christmas period, but most impressive was the 3 pts and 4 goals we dished out during the charge of the light brigade at Carrow Road.
Leeds also did a bit of squad rotation and lost I think 4-2 at home to Forest in the cup. The bulk of the top 6 championship sides took a broadside from their opposition in that last round. I’d of preferred to of seen Derby out of the cup to be honest. The aura of the tournament has lost much of its appeal because of so much football and what is at stake financially at league level, so nobody fields a competitive side……… It’s true, just ask Rotherham and Burton fans, Man City only took a squad worth about £300 million to those two matches……. chavs.
I’d rather Derby just had the league to concentrate on.
Leeds results have slipped a little and their back line has been exposed and is vulnerable, but so is Derby’s. It has been all season.
I’ll do a full write up tomorrow dinnertime, but please, I need an email link. One that works please.

Kicking lumps out each other and 2 first half goals disallowed. 0-0 downs the treble.

I’ve been quietly ticking along on my bank builder this past few days, thought I’d give it a whirl. It’s gotta be better than sitting at home and coughing up a lung every few minutes. Its not flu, its not hit me hard enough but this lurgy has hit me a bit like train. Had it 9 days now and just when it seems I’ve seen the back of it, it rears its ugly head.
    Anyway onto my betting :

I actually managed to kickstart my £10 challenge with a 3/1 on a £10 with no further goals in the Adelaide v Sydney game, that bet I dropped on at 10.08am. Somehow the final 27 minutes + stoppage time yielded no goals but set my challenge off to a flier.
As I’ve been up and about longer than I want and not sleeping as much as I want, I’ve had access to a bit of betting time on games I might of otherwise ignored. BUT.
    I followed up that 3/1 with a 4/9, 1/8, (2/11 + 1/14 double ) and finished the day with another double ( 1/12 + 1/33 ). £69.81

Day 2: with very slim pickings, I found a nice 1/6 to start my day well ( it made me sweat a little because it was a game in Pakistan and yielded the goal in the 2nd of 2 mins of injurytime – Pakistan Navy v National Bank ) + a 1/4. I grabbed a handy 1/7 too and contemplated a Spanish or Portuguese double. To tell you the truth, I had a nosey around at what everyone else was doing and dropped onto a little double – but I did go a little off script. I hoped to get a few hours sleep and awake sometime around now and see how it panned out. I never got sleep, but my brain was so fuzzy, I couldn’t remember what I’d picked, I knew I went for an overs 1.5 tmg’s double so I looked on flashscore to see if that reminded me. I noticed a couple of games – Real Sociadad and I think Portugal looked very short on goals. I cringed a little and logged into my acct.
My double had landed nicely – but not quite how I’d expected. I had the Barcelona game down as 1 component for a 1/8, the other was Athletico Bilbao/Seville @ 1/3. I missed the dog-poo on the snow covered pitch ( It’s a metaphor for those that are unaware of my favourite betting method ).
Today looks like a 179% profit day. Not quite as good as yesterdays 590%, but my challenge is starting to get to that interesting point.
I shall be reeling it in over the next few days, but will keep you guys posted. It looks like day 2 of my betting strategy has concluded and I’ve actually made some decent progress.

Good luck – maybe keep folk posted before bets are placed and give them a chance to follow.
      Hope you’re feeling better.

Sad but not surprising news coming through about Andy Murray – arguably Scotland’s greatest sportsman.
Never thought I’d see a Brit winning Wimbledon – might not see it again.
Hope he enjoys his retirement pain free and I’m sure he’ll contribute something on the coaching side.
