Top Football Tips

IT was a day when Rangers and Liverpool were to mark down their title credentials but it ended being another day for bookies as both flopped.

Rangers' stay at the top of the Premiership lasted one game as they were held at Hearts while Liverpool's perfect start to the season ended with a 1-1 draw at archrivals Man United.

To be fair to the two underdogs they stepped it up and deserved their points but the two title contenders will be disappointed in their displays.

Both cost me on another poor day but well done to all the winners including Greg, HullShaker and SlipsTips with some good shouts on his match previews.

My Man Utd v Liverpool predictions contest attracted hundreds of entries with the vast majority going for Liverpool.

Plenty of people picked two out of five correct with one backing Adam Lallana to score or just four corners in the match.

However, one person gave me three correct answers so well done to Kabed who on the first post took 1-1, Marcus Rashford to score first and 1-0 half-time. Your prize of a £25 Ladbrokes bet can be claimed by emailing [email protected].

On Monday the big game is Sheffield Utd v Arsenal and I expect the home men to make it tough for their illustrious opponents in the first meeting of the sides for 11 years. Check out kevinmac's match preview.

Not much else to look at ahead of the Euro ties but there is Brescia v Fiorentina in Serie A and some Dutch second-tier matches but I've picked out a treble with the help of site contributors.

Under 1.5 goals and under 2.5 goals has been tipped at Bramall Lane and I can see why. I don't like unders bets because an early goal can change everything but it looks the call here with United scoring seven and conceding seven and the Gunners netting five on the road in four outings.

The Blades have lost 1-0 at home to Southampton, Sunderland and Liverpool so that is a possible scoreline. But since this is part of a treble I'm on under 3.5 goals at around 4-11.

Add btts at Brescia and that's landed in four out of five meetings. Brescia's last three defeats have been to Napoli (1-2), Juventus (1-2) and Bologna (3-4) so they can score against decent sides and La Viola are one of those after going five unbeaten.

Four of their last six have brought btts including Milan away (3-1), Atalanta away (2-2) and Genoa away (1-2).

I could have added Bodo/Glimt to win or Djurgaarden draw no bet but I'm going with a tip put up by mr h which is good on price and stats. He's backing both to score at 21-20 at Frosinone v Livorno with both sides conceding in their last seven and scoring in their previous four.

If you don't like this consider both to score and over 2.5 goals at Jong Ajax and that comes from wasclueless.

Remember to check out welovebetting for their video tips and chat.

    Midtylland/ bodo win dbl
    Evens various

    Sheff Utd v arsenal
Both teams 2+ corners each half
    5/2
    Both teams 5+ match corners
    13/8
    Both at skybet

Sheff Utd have managed 8-7-12-6 corners in their 4 home games this season. Wing backs and overlapping centre half’s mean they are a decent side to follow for this market. Arsenal haven’t set the heather on fire in this market but they’ve had tough away games. I think this will be an end to end open match.

Few Brazillian games about to start but 11pm KO’s see Palmeiras & Chapecoense but any of these games could see 15+ corners. 6 games specials wi 3 8pm, 1 10pm & 2 11pm KOs so nicely staggered over the night.

    64+ corners 10/11 ?
    68+ corners 2/1 ?
    72+ corners 4/1 ?

10, 12, 15, 17, 3 & 15 corners in the 6 games. 72 exactly. Can’t believe Palmeiras game only had 3 corners, double lost wi the poor show at Palmeiras.

Salah wasn’t fit enough to play – Klopp has just confirmed he had an ankle injury suffered against Leicester and was never going to make it in time.

We was told Salah was fine,we was told straight after the Leicester City game that Salah suffered no injury,my opinion is Klopp was protecting him yesterday,if he plays weds then he was fit.

Leaving var to one side, what did you think of the game, macca. I didn’t think salah would be that big a miss but they seemed to really miss his pace and energy.

1-1 about right I thought in the end.

I hope Sky never allow neville and carragher to commentate on another Liverpool man united game because they were insufferable.

    Sheffield United v Arsenal
    Under 2.5 goals at 11/10*****(NAP)
    Draw at 11/4 (NB)
    No Goalscorer at 12/1
One thing you can say about Sheff Utd is they don’t give much away, they don’t score many and they don’t concede many, played 8 scored 7 conceded 7 and given tonight’s opponents this game should be tight. That statement might sound daft but if you put it into context then the home side have the joint best defense in the premier league and that’s different from a newly promoted side.I don’t like Unders bets but i’m more than happy taking this on given the odds should be the other way round from the bookies,
    Best of luck

1/2 in Italy again yesterday with the 2nd game a goal short for the double. Although an 11/8 & 4/1 in the first. Here’s yin to mark in the diary for Wednesday lunchtime in Armenia incase I’m on holiday ?,the leagues most prolific attack against the leagues most horrific defence.

    Masis v Van

    Home side are rooted to the foot of the table,record reads…P 11 W1 D1 L9 F19 A49

    0-3,0-9,2-3,2-2,1-4,5-3,2-3,2-7,2-7,3-7,0-1

Some serious pumpins in there and those 3 in the last 4 that they conceded 7 a piece in were against sides that Van have gave a doing….

Lokomotiv beat Masis 7-2,Van beat them 3-0
Arrarat II beat Masis 7-2,Van beat them 6-0
Aragats beat Masis 7-3,Van beat them 4-1

    Van record…P10 W8 D1 L1 F32 A9

    2-1,3-0,6-0,4-1,4-0,1-0,4-3,0-1,3-3,5-0

Be limited markets but Asian lines will be available pre-match and inplay should bring more up. Be surprised if there’s any less than 5 goals in this with the away side contributing most

Main fancy the day for decent value is in Italy Seria B this time and 2 sides in the bottom 3 that canny keep clean sheets. Frosinone and Livorno have conceded in all 7 outings so far, both have scored in each of their last 4 bringing up the BTTS market with Livorno netting 8 in 4. All 3 of Frosinones home he’s have seen both score. See no reason why it can’t happen tonight

Jong Ajax Overs, Brescia v Fiorentina BTTS 1.1/1
BTTS & Overs double 2/1 – smaller stake
Should hopefully be goals in Holland. Ajax have seen 6.5.2.6 goals in home games. Brescia netted against Juve and Napoli so can hopefully score against Fiorentina who have scored and conceded in all games on the road. GL all!

Nfl last night finished 30-16 to the ravens

Seattle looked set for a decent second half after posting 13 points in the first, that was one TD and 2 field goals, that showed they were moving the ball well but just not converting into TD’s, however their only score in the second was a field goal with 3 mins left, which I felt a strange call considering it was 4th and 4 about 15 yards from the end zone, that would have meant a one play game and with a turnover the chance of taking to overtime, but the field goal just ended the game as that was certainly no way back for seattle.
That was the first time seattle didn’t cover the total I bet on in 5 games, it is also well known Seattle are a far superior home team. Baltimore also regularly post high scoring total points figures this season so this score was a further surprise however it did come close.

I stick by my selections as I was very very confident, however yesterday the Seahawks didn’t show their full game. Elsewhere Green Bay won easily again and the Saints also won which I napped last week as Super Bowl winners at 13/2, now into 11/2.

Onto Monday night which sees the jets@new England and any non nfl fan knows which way this will go…
The last time these two faced was on 22nd September which finished 30-14 to the pats on jets home soil.

I’m all out on this selection and be conservative if you like but I’m tripling my stake on this one, certain games throughout the nfl season seem to be gifts and I feel this is one of those games, I don’t chase loses atall as that’s terrible when betting and is problem gambling so don’t be doing that, currently this weekend I am 1 and 3/4 nap stakes DOWN, which the profit I’m in for this season on NFL is absolutely nothing atall hence why you don’t chase losses, but tonight my triple stake would have always been so.

      Hi Chris,

Tbh mate I like both of skybets boosts but they are boosted as they come with risk and sky know that, the New England win and Brady 300+ pass yards at 7/4 looks a gimme, New England will 100% win imo, Brady has over 300 passing yards in 4/6 games off the top of my head, last two easily cleared this total and another time was just covering over 300 against the jets… the risk is whom the receivers are! Missing two of their regulars and Edelman is a doubt for this game too, if he’s passed off fit and a regular first stringer tonight (if he’s fully fit I mean) then the total should be very close indeed and he will be his primary receiver, the past two games Edelman has over 100 receiving yards so the 5/1 combo of 300+ Brady passing yards and Edelman 100+ receiving yards could be a fun play and give you a run for your money, I’ll be on these for interest stakes as I like doing that too and can sometimes give some compensation!

At a bigger price of 10/1 sky add in sony michel 100+ rushing yards then the one I like is either QB 500+
Passing yards at 80/1 this evening, this will obviously be brady if it happened and if anyone can it’s either him, Mahomes or brees that have the best chance. Big Ben has in the past but not with his elbow atm!

Hope it helps Chris, this is were my money has gone on RABS but these are a lesser stake tonight as a team could play really well and win comfortably and you could be sat there annoyed as their primary receiver weren’t used? only NAP those when it’s 100% obvious who it’ll be

      GL mate!

    BRESCIA V FIORENTINA over 2.5

Great chance Brescia have played 2 home games scoring 4 and conceding 6 and firentina have played 3 away games scoring 6 conceding 5 goals. Big game in Denmark Randers have won 8 games on the bounce yes 8 they go away to Mid as big outsiders and are 11to 2 if you fancy the win or plus one is 13to8 Randers they have scored no less than 2 goals in all 8 wins and go here in great form Mid lost to odense a couple of games back at home and with the form randers on feel they can get a goal if not more plus a win

Going against the grain a little for tonights PL game.
As Cockerspaniel mentions, Tierney should be in line for his PL debut tonight and will be looking to make up for some lost time. The couple of times he has played for us in a 2nd string side (cup comps) he has looked like one of the best players on the pitch. It might sound optimistic but I fully expect him to give us an extra dimension in attack & defence seeing as we haven’t played with either first choice full back for over a year!

We haven’t been convincing this season yet we sat in 3rd prior to this game weeks fixture having played United, Spurs & Liverpool so far already.
We have (on paper) some very winnable fixtures coming up and *whisper it* I can see us going on decent unbeaten run to keep us in the mix for top four come christmas time.

Sheffield have been fairly solid and see lots of folk suggesting they could get something from tonights game with unders also mentioned, however I have a suspicion they will give it a real go as they might sense we haven’t been playing that well and are possibly there for the taking. IMO this would suit us to the ground and can see a few goals being scored especially with KT (hopefully) making an impact.
This leads me to bets for tonights game:

    *Arsenal win @ 19/20 2points

    *Arsenal to win & O2.5 goals @ 19/10 1point

    *MOTM Kieran Tierney @ 12/1

BOL for those having a bet tonight.

I’m looking forward to seeing Tierney & Saka overlapping. Saka will be looking to score to keep lacazette on the bench and I think he could with Tierney behind him.

Liverpool went there and Sheffield United made it difficult, defensively Sheffield United are sound hard to break down, they should be well prepared for this one and they have a manager who looks to have them doing exactly as he wants them to.An away win would be a good result indeed for Arsenal.

Think Saka looks a good prospect New123 but he needs to work on his decision making. Can be guilty of not seeing a pass if he’s in sight of goal. Obviously I would love him to do well but its important not too overhype him too much at this stage. Had a great game in Europe!

Really hoping tonight will prove that Arsenals away day issues are finished. Nothing like an October monday night fixture in Sheffield to put the boys to the test, could well be the last time I post if we get turned over tonight!

    Afternoon gents,

Northern Challenge Cup action for me this evening:

BRIGHOUSE TOWN VS. STOCKSBRIDGE PARK STEELS (7.45KO):

Sneaky suspicion that these two Yorkshire outfits will keep things tight until the latter stages of the match – speculative picks but could be the way to go:

BRIGHOUSE TOWN 2nd half highest scoring half
    (11/8, bet365) NAP ⭐⭐

STOCKSBRIDGE PARK STEELS 2nd half highest scoring half
    (11/8, bet365) NB ⭐

    Best of luck!

Frosinone decent at home despite their league position but conceded in last 4 homes against mid table teams.

Been doing a £10-£1000 every week on Twitter as a Kwiff bet.
Never done a £10 to £10k challenge because I’m not sure anyone would go all the way if they reached three or four grand.
Will comment here if we start a new one this week.

    Sheff Utd v arsenal
Both teams 2+ corners each half
    5/2❌
    Both teams 5+ match corners
    13/8✅
    Both at skybet

Sheff Utd have managed 8-7-12-6 corners in their 4 home games this season. Wing backs and overlapping centre half’s mean they are a decent side to follow for this market. Arsenal haven’t set the heather on fire in this market but they’ve had tough away games. I think this will be an end to end open match.

Corners galore at bramall lane as I suspected. 6 apiece at 45 meant 1 bet was in at ht and arsenal dominance 2nd half means the other just fell 1 short.

Not sure what to make of that performance to be honest. Thought Sheffield got lucky, should of had a man sent off early on, pen should have been given on Saka (he got booked for diving). That said, we weren’t creative enough. Sorry to anyone that followed my (rose tinted tips)
