IT was as expected a tough Saturday and while I was pleased to land a 6-4 Super Single the star of the show was Chris Guy with an unbelievable 90-1 first-scorer success.
Chris is well known to regulars for his long shots but I can't remember a bigger a single with Jean Alohou striking first for Strasbourg in a 5-2 defeat at PSG.
Fingers crossed for Chris who doubled him with Hamilton's Ioannis Skondras against Rangers at 60-1 so he stands to win £25k for a fiver if he hits the opener.
I wasn't making excuses by saying it was a difficult set of fixtures and even those concentrating on goals struggled. Greg and Desmond drew blanks but well done to Scott Allot for his 4-1 Euro btts treble.
My four accas were losers but it was a day for low stakes and I lost just 1pt thanks to Falkirk's injury-time winner at Brechin.
On Sunday as well as Hamilton v Rangers we have Celtic v St Johnstone and while the champs will rest some stars ahead of their Europa League second leg in St Petersburg they should still beat a struggling side.
In the FA Cup Spurs shouldn't have any problems on Rochdale's new pitch while there are two good games in the Championship – Norwich v Ipswich and Leeds v Bristol City.
