LIVERPOOL have almost no chance of reaching the Champions League Final but will go down fighting.

Lionel Messi turned a competitive tie into a one-sided show with his two late goals at the Nou Camp last week.

Jurgen Klopp knows there's no way back from 3-0 down against a side that will almost certainly score an away goal.

That means the Reds will need five and that's not going to happen with Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah out.

While the Reds battled to win 3-2 at Newcastle the Barca stars had their feet up with everyone rested for the 2-0 defeat at Celta Vigo.

Barcelona are 19-10 at Betfred for an away victory and that's possible if Liverpool go gung-ho and leave gaps at the back. A safer option is Barca draw no bet at 28-25 with Marathonbet.

Liverpool are as big as 16-1 at bet365 to qualify and 7-5 at Ladbrokes to win on Tuesday.

Best bet looks to be match goals and while over 2.5 pays just 4-7 at McBookie there is a chance of over 3.5 at 33-20 with Marathonbet. Both to score is no bigger than 8-15 at McBookie.

Messi outshone everyone at the Nou Camp and will be well backed at 6-5 with Betfred to net again. To score first the Argentine is 19-5 at Unibet ahead of former Pool star Luis Suarez at 11-2 at McBookie.

Sadio Mane is now Klopp's best hope of a goal and he is also 11-2 to break the deadlock.

It now looks like Liverpool despite having a great season will end up with a bare cupboard.Of course they have nothing to lose and you never know but as you say Barca should score.

i wouldn’t class not winning any silverware a great season, 4 season’s now klopp have won nothing and spent 500million pounds nothing to show for it ,if that was another manager at any other club he would be sacked .your season is defined by what you win nothing else.and just to say the season is not finished yet still one game left in the premiership anything can happen, hopefully city will do it because they have been the best team for the past couple of years.playing great football at times ,i think city will dominate the english premiership for years to come.and for united it looks like it is going to be years before they challeng again i said they need about 5 0r 6 new players but now i think they need a whole new team.

@the plug, unfortunately it’s not all about trophies anymore, football has now become a business and making money is more important. On that front Liverpool have become a success under Jurgen Klopp and are about to sign the biggest Sponsorship deal in football history making them the countries top earners,as for City dominating the premier league, they have hardly dominated this season have they??I wouldn’t call winning the league by 1 point dominating. They won’t do it next season.

It’s funny how trophies don’t matter yet liverpool fans constantly remind everyone there the most successful British team in Europe. They even sing about it

Problem in England is the top six are competing for one big prize – the Premier League – and only one team can win it.
Liverpool have one of the highest points total in Premier League history and will finish second.

    • maccathered 5 years ago

Trophies matter to the fans of course they do but clubs are still a business. The plug points out how much Liverpool have spent and i think they have spent wisely as it’s still a hell of a lot less than Man Utd have spent and look where they are.😂😂😂😂

Ah macca av a look at the clip on talksport mate you will even laugh

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

It’s different – you get Champions League football for 2nd, 3rd and 4th and that’s where the big money is.
Trophies are more important to fans but for owners it’s about money. Liverpool and Spurs finished behind Man City last season but are still in the Champions League and will be there next season so for both it’s no trophies but a good season.

macca Liverpool have had an outstanding league campaign and unfortunately it looks like they are gonna fall just short at the line but if man city win the treble then theres no doubt they have dominated English football this season. win by 1 point or win by 10 it doesn’t matter, its winning that counts

    • maccathered 5 years ago

Hardly an outstanding season mate,Klopp’s aim was to be Premier League champions by 2020 that was the clubs plan, obviously Liverpool have improved vastly this season and will challenge for the top honours for years to come.Moving in the right direction anyway.
