SCOTLAND'S women make their World Cup debut tomorrow aiming to improve on their Euro 2017 finals display.

A 6-0 defeat thrashing by the Auld Enemy put us on the back foot and ultimately we failed to qualify.

Since then Shelley Kerr's taken charge and there's no doubt the Scots have improved and have some top-quality players at some of Europe's best clubs.

England too have progressed under Phil Neville and the world's No.3 side have high hopes of going all the way in France.

However, they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to New Zealand in their final warm-up at Brighton while the Scots headed across the Channel on a high after beating Jamaica in front of a record crowd of more than 18,000.

Kerr's crackers are in a tough group with world No.7 Japan as well as Argentina but the best third-placed sides qualify so it's important to at least run the English close.

Bookies have written us off with BetVictor offering a best price of 14-1 while Neville's ladies are 1-4 at Sky Bet.

There have been 14 goals in the past two meetings – the other was a 4-4 draw – so goals could be the way to go.

Scotland boast plenty of attacking threat with the likes of Erin Cuthbert, Caroline Weir and Kim Little and we've scored in 12 of our last 14.

Best bet could be Scotland to net at 11-8 with Unibet and to score two or more it's 17-2. I also like both teams to score at 8-5 at Unibet.

England and over 2.5 match goals should land at 10-11 with Betway but I expect a much closer game than last time.

Picking a first scorer is tough so go with the anytime option and consider Nikita Parris at 7-4 or Lucy Bronze at 11-2 for England.

Cuthbert looks decent value at 6-1 at BetVictor while Man City's deadball expert Weir is 10-1 with William Hill. Both netted against Jamaica.

Today Germany, Spain and Norway are expected to win and the treble pays evens at Sky Bet.
