Welcome back to MFT’s 10-1,000 betting challenge, where we aim for a 100x return on the original investment via a small stake betting strategy, prioritising low risk and low odds en route to a long-term target.
While this column is dedicated to high-probability tips, there is no guarantee of profit. If playing along, you should consider your own budget and confidence in the tip provided, and make your own decision whether to follow, cash out or continue at every stage. 18+, please gamble responsibly.
We will use a unit system for our stakes, allowing readers to set their own unit value that suits their own budget. For the sake of simplicity, for us, 1 unit = £1.
We will continue to transparently track our progress as far as we go on the path to 1,000, but will refresh our main tracking stake back to the starting point every time we surpass 100 units – a 10x ROI.
For the sake of consistency, all tips are placed using odds from bet365. It worth pointing out that with Bet365 we can paid out if our selection goes into a lead by two or more goals.
We landed Bet 3 last night as Manchester United and Brentford delivered for us, keeping the run going.
Bet 4 is based around a player prop, so team news matters. The selection depends on Jaden Philogene starting the match. If he is named in the XI, the numbers point towards a strong angle.
If he does not start, this becomes a no bet and we will move on to another option rather than force a play under weaker conditions.
Once the teams are announced, we will know whether Bet 4 stands or whether a replacement is the better route.
Bet 4 – Southampton vs Ipswich Town – Tuesday 28th April at 19.45pm
Jaden Philogene to be fouled at least once and Ipswich Town over 0.5 cards has solid support from both player and team data.
Philogene regularly draws contact. He has been fouled 47 times in 33 appearances, one every 39 minutes. In 22 starts he has been fouled 42 times, one every 38 minutes, and has been fouled at least once in 19 of those starts, an 86.4% hit rate. Since returning from injury he has started three matches and drawn three, two and two fouls.
The likely direct opponent is James Bree, who has started 16 league games since returning and committed 15 fouls, making at least one foul in 12 of them. That matchup gives the foul leg extra strength.
The card leg also looks strong. Southampton home matches average 4.09 total cards, with visiting sides collecting 2.55 on average. Of 22 away teams to visit, 21 collected at least one card and 17 collected at least two.
Ipswich themselves average 2.4 cards away from home and have collected at least one in 20 of 22 road games. Both legs align well with the season data.
