Bloomfield Road, Friday, 7.45pm, live on Sky Sports 1
THE first play-off semi-final wasn't as cagey as expected although the under 2.5 goals tip came up.
What a difference an early goal makes and the Cardiff v West Ham clash was pretty open with the home side unlucky not to be on target.
Tonight's other tie between Blackpool and Birmingham is expected to produce plenty of goals – so hopefully it won't let us down.
Blackpool like to attack, especially at home, while Birmingham have netted in their last 16 Championship matches.
So the obvious bet is both teams to score at 4-5 with Blue Square while it should go over 2.5 goals at 10-11 (various).
As far as picking a winner is concerned that's tougher. I don't see Blackpool losing and it was 2-2 at Bloomfield Road last November so another score draw could be the call.
Blackpool could edge it but I'm on Birmingham at 4-5 with BetVictor to qualify and remember they won the meeting of the sides 3-0 at St Andrews. The Tangerines are 6-5 with William Hill to reach the Final.
To win tonight Blackpool are 29-20 with Ladbrokes with Birmingham 11-5 at BetVictor and the draw 12-5 with the same firm.
Blackpool boss Ian Holloway backed Stephen Dobbie to guide his men to promotion when he signed him on loan from Swansea recently. The Scot has responded with five goals in five starts and Holloway will be hoping he maintains his amazing record in the play-offs, scoring both for Blackpool and Swansea.
Dobbie is 15-2 at Ladbrokes to score first and 9-4 to net at any time.
Marlon King could provide Brum's biggest threat having netted in both games between the sides this season. King is 13-2 at bet365 and BetVictor to break the deadlock and 2-1 at Coral to score.
Recommendations
Both to score
(4-5, Blue Square)
Dobbie to score
(9-4, Ladbrokes)
King to score
(2-1, Coral)
Birmingham to qualify
(4-5, BetVictor)
Agree with u there should be goals. Think blackpool will take the game to the them so went with blackpool to score in both halves @ 5/2. Also stuck a wee tenner on them to win both halves @ 7/1. Still looking for other possible bets, maybe mr f’s tip for goalscorers, so will be keeping an eye open in here for tips. Good luck in your bets tonight everyone :)
Bastia 2/1 at William Hills to win away at Le Mans.
Nice little addition to an acca!
Going for Stephen Dobbie first scorer 5/1 on betfred. Double delight and hatrick heaven.
£20 on Dobbie first and last for me.
15/2 at Ladbrokes!!
David I would have personally taken him at 15/2 as opposed to 5/1 on the double delight but hope it works out for you mate.
Chris, that’s an OG so all first-scorer bets still running.
Goin with you Chris Guy although Skybet are only giving 11/2. poor show
Also Dobbie anytime 6/4 compared to the 9/4 mentioned above, again poor show.
Good Luck everyone.
went for dobbie 2-2 tonght 80/1 also dobbie is too big a price for first goal or anytime goal. guys on fire.
Yeah Willie that’s pretty naff mate. But if it wins I wins. I know people don’t like opening multiple accounts but I have an account with every bookie so I always get the best price. You should have just jumped into a Ladbrokes shop if there is one close by.
i have gone with
king to score first ,brimingham to win2-1
£10 @ 55-1
hl couldnt have come at a better time for you joe,
hoping to see blackpool return to prem league just for holloways interviews after games haha says it how it is
Thanx craig. Anyone any thots on a decent cover bet?
Paul I hope so, can we clarify this. Live scores have it as an own goal and Eurosport has it as ince
Im not watching the game
Has it been awarded on sky as an own goal?
Chris, Sky decision doesn’t matter. PA have given it as own goal and they are the arbiters.
Thank god waitin on dobbie 2-1 45/1
Ok that’s good. Sky sports website has it as an own goal. It was Eurosport that put it down as once. According to the txt comments on Eurosport Dobbie has had a couple of chances. Just hope they don’t sit on 1-0. At least my first and last scorer bets are still running. Does Dobbie hit the penalties?
Well done Joe, lucky with the last minute goal. Your 7/1 is looking pretty good mate.
Chris, all bookies as far as I’m aware go with the PA goalflash. And yes Dobbie does take the penalties. He’s playing well but funnily enough about 10 minutes in I said Ince could get the first goal as he looked in the mood.
Chris, second half Dobbie missed a sitter and Ince still looks most likely to score.
Thot i wuda at least got my score in both halves up after late first half goal but at least i got a run for my money. Thot phillips had scored but ruled out for offside. Not too much joy in here tonight, dobbie could of had a couple in first half but lets hope bigger card over the weekend will help us get some dough back from the bookies!
Thats my English btts down lol oh well I have £40 on Scottish btts
