NAPOLI are a side I've followed with interest all season, particularly on the goals lines.
Their 13 homes games have featured 37 goals and there should be a few more when they face Cagliari in Serie A tonight.
The Naples men will be happy to get this game out of the way early ahead of next week's Champions League clash at Chelsea.
They are a best 8-15 with William Hill, BetVictor and others but worth a look -1 at 6-4 with bodog and BetVictor.
Edison Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi have been brilliant in attack but who will score first? It's a toss-up so a better bet might be to consider both to net. Cavani is 5-6 at Stan James with Ezequiel 13-8 at unibet.
The other Serie A match sees Chievo take on Inter Milan and it's tougher to call. Inter ended a run of five games without a goal by holding Catania 2-2 at home last week but it wasn't an impressive result.
Chievo, 7-4 at the likes of Coral, should be looked at +1 goal at 4-9 (various).
In Germany it should be plain sailing for Stuttgart at home to bottom dogs Kaiserslautern. Stuttgart are 4-6 with William Hill, Paddy Power, bet365 and others against an outfit without a win since October.
Stuttgart have netted 15 goals in their last four, winning three of them, and should take the points at a canter.
In France struggling Ajaccio will feel they have every chance of a result against a Marseille side that's lost three in a row against Evian, Toulouse and Brest without scoring.
It's a terrible run ahead of next week's Champions League tie with Inter Milan but there's no way I'd be backing Marseille at 1-1 with BetVictor and bet365. Ajaccio, who have won four, drawn four and lost five, could be worth a small investment at 17-5 at BetVictor.
There is a big game in the Blue Square Premier with leaders Fleetwood travelling to Kidderminster. Fleetwood have won seven away games in a row and are 1-1 at the likes of William Hill to make it No.8.
Fleetwood have netted 40 goals in 17 games and look certs to win the promotion to the league set-up.
Recommendations
Napoli/Stuttgart double
Pays £25.55 to a £10 stake at William Hill
Cavani to score
(5-6, Stan James)
Lavezzi to score
(13-8, unibet)
Fleetwood
(1-1, William Hill)
I think Lavezzi is out tonight?
Robbie, OK thanks will check it out. Makes it easier then to go for Cavani.
Robbie, I’m not doubting you but I can’t see anything about Lavezzi being out. However, there is a suggestion Cavani will be rested so it might be an idea to see teams before having a bet.
Robbie, I see Lavezzi started and scored and by all accounts played a blinder in Napoli’s 6-3 win. So that bet is up but Cavani didn’t come on until the 60th minute so bets on him are void.
I said a couple of weeks ago, that teams at the top of the French lower tiers are worth avoiding even if they are playing teams well below in the league. I Went against my own advice tonight when I saw Clermontfoot at 11/10 (2nd) at home to Le Mans (17th). Everything rosey and coupon up until bang, 90th min equaliser for the 17th place team. Those French teams can go and take a flying frog to themselves from now on :(
Willie, it’s tough life backing favourites, just look at Stuttgart tonight.
Paul
One of your followers wrote in midweek that he was going for his 21st Evs money double out of 23 attempts. Go tme thinking, and decided to give it a bash last night and again tonight to get the ball rolling,
Man U & Valencia last night – Man U 4/9 shots ???
Napoli and Stuttgart tonight – Stuttgart 21 shots on goal to Kaiserslautens 9 ????
Just shows how good an effort that 21 out of 23 is.
Willie, it’s a great effort and I have no reason to doubt him. I wouldn’t have touched Man Utd v Athletic who are a right good side and giving the Europa League a serious attempt. But I was on Stuttgart with Napoli and Fleetwood and you’re right about being wary of backing all the favourites.
Nice little double ajaccio and inter having a great week! Other line down stutgart fleetwood and Napoli. Still having a good week though.
Steven, liked Ajaccio but Stuttgart was a shocker.
Had napoli -1, fleetwood, maritimo and Stuttgart tonight! Statistics for the German game were ridiculous, how they didn’t win I have no idea! Ah well, onto tomorrow to try again!!
Luke, don’t how Stuttgart didn’t win with all the pressure they had.
