THERE are two big games today and it's possible away sides will come out top in both.

Certainly Liverpool at Man United and Arsenal at Spurs were given plenty of encouragement to go and grab three vital points after Chelsea's surprise defeat to Aston Villa.

I don't often agree with Robbie Savage but he's right to suggest Liverpool should be favourites in the early game at Old Trafford. United have already lost at home four times – and put in context that's the same as Norwich. United, 6-4 at Betfred, will also one have one eye on the midweek Champions League return against Olympiakos which is a more important match.

Liverpool haven't won at Old Trafford since 2009 and this must be their best chance in a while although Davie Moyes's men league form has improved. You can never write off United in big games but I'm looking at Liverpool at 15-8 with William Hill and Betfred and also draw no bet at 11-10 with McBookie and BetVictor.

Daniel Sturridge is more prolific than Luis Suarez these days so consider him at 15-8 with Stan James to score. Ten of the last 15 meetings have gone over 2.5 goals and I fancy it again at 4-6 with Ladbrokes.

Now to White Hart Lane and as I watched Spurs outclassed by Benfica in the Europa League in midweek I wondered how they'd cope against Arsenal. Sure, it's a derby and form can go out the window by after big defeats to Chelsea and the Portuguese it's mini crisis time for Tim Sherwood's men.

Arsenal played well in holding Bayern Munich on Tuesday but the Champions League exit will allow Arsene Wenger to concentrate on a title bid but the loss of Mesut Ozil means he's a bit short of midfielders with Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere also out.
Match Odds

Spurs started well under Sherwood but have stalled badly and of course lost 2-0 to the Gunners in the FA Cup and I think Wenger will get the measure of his younger rival.

Five of Spurs' eight league defeats have followed Thursday night Europe League ties but Arsenal have struggled to beat top teams on the road so a draw can't be ruled out.

However, I'm going to take a chance on the Gunners at 6-4 with Ladbrokes and again the safer options is Arsenal draw no bet at 3-4 with Ladbrokes.

While most of the recent meetings between the sides have gone over 2.5 goals I'm taking the opposite view and believe it could be a tight contest with few chances.

Speaking as a Liverpool fan I hope we crush them! Strangely bullish about tomorrow I’m sure nerves will set in just before the game.right now I’m thinking 4-1 Liverpool tomorrow 1pm might be thinking 1-1:(

United v Liverpool – agree there will be over 2.5 goals both have suspect defenses but can see United edging by the odd goal. Think beating Liverpool and stopping their title run is more important than Champions League game. Old Trafford will be rocking for a change.

    16.00 Tottenham v Arsenal – Highest Scoring Half: 2nd Half @ 10/11 WHill

Tottenham have scored 67.6% of their league goals in the 2nd half. On average 1st league goal at home comes in the 43rd minute and they concede their 1st in the 35th. In 14 home league games they have kept a clean sheet 7 times and failed to score 3 times.

Arsenal have 65.4% of their league goals in the 2nd half. On average 1st league goal away comes in the 44th minute and they concede their 1st in the 46th.
In 14 away league games they have kept a clean sheet 3 times and failed to score twice.

Conclude Spurs are probably going to score and Arsenal more than likely to score. Any goals have a greater than 60/40 chance of coming in the 2nd half

10/11 a price which favours the bettor

    Rvp at 5/1 1st scorer.
After his statement about committing himself for life to utd if needed he’s back on song with both players and fans.
A class act with a point to prove.
Also pp giving money back If Rooney scores anytime.

No way!! as a former manc and lifelong man u supporter i just cant do that bet on Liverpool Mr F,ive a feeling united just might finally put in a performance and hopefully take the spoils in this 1,one i bet i might have a small flutter on is on Per Mertesacker to score first in the Spurs v Arsenal game at 25/1.Hes gone mad i hear you say, well my reasoning is a bit speculative but Spurs are having defesive problems and last season Mertesacker scored home and away against them and has also scored at the Etihad this season, hes a huge player 6ft 6 who comes up regularly for set pieces and i can see him causing a few problems today. Ill be taking the E/W option on skybet @ 25/1 for this bet which means i get over 8/1 should he net a goal anytime, worth a quid or 2 me thinks :)

Sean, I know Man Utd are capable of a big performance but haven’t done enough this season – Mertesacker bet makes perfect sense but of course it’s always speculative going for a defender.

Yet another hopeless performance by Man utd today, just hope this is seen as another nail in moyes coffin, hes turned a team that won the lg by 11 points into an absolute shambles, no more excuses about the players when its obviously the coaching methods by a backroom staff with no ideas.Writing was on the wall when moyes turned up on day 1 with steve round, phil neville,6 cones and a sandbag!!!
