Ahead of Ligue 1 returning next month, let's take a look at who the early front runners are likely to be in the race to finish as France's leading marksman.
Best Ligue 1 top scorer odds
Ousmane Dembele
Ousmane Dembele’s blistering run of from December through to March saw him end the season with an impressive return of 21 Ligue 1 goals. The PSG ace also chipped in with six assists for good measure, not to mention he also fired in 12 goals in domestic cup and European duty last term.
With Dembele not expected to depart the French capital this summer, he will almost certainly start next season as the bookmakers' favourite in this particular market.
Mason Greenwood
A couple of goals from Mason Greenwood on the final day of last season saw him end the campaign with an impressive haul of 21 Ligue 1 goals. While that goal return saw Greenwood finish level with the aforementioned Dembele, he missed out on the Golden Boot award on a tiebreaker due to having fewer assists as well as scoring more penalties.
With Greenwood under contract at the Stade Velodrome until 2029, he is expected to spearhead Marseille's attack again next season, and based on last season’s form, he is sure to be one of the non-PSG players to be in the running for the award.
Mika Biereth
It would be fair to say that Mika Biereth was one of the signings of the season in France last season. The former Arsenal youngster arrived at Monaco during the January transfer window and went on to score 13 goals across his 16 starts in Ligue 1, including back-to-back hat-tricks.
With Biereth now gearing up for his first full season with the Principality club, he could merit consideration in the top goalscorer market this coming term. The Red and Whites have been busy in the transfer market this summer, and Biereth should benefit from that as a result.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia hit the ground running after joining PSG from Napoli at the beginning of the year. The classy Georgian winger hit seven goals and provided six assists across his combined 23 appearances in Ligue 1 and the Champions League last season.
Having carried that form into the Club World Cup, Kvaratskhelia will be a player to keep an eye out for in the top goalscorer market this coming season.
Our Ligue 1 top scorer prediction
While the odds for next season's top goalscorer have not yet been priced up by the bookmakers, it would come as a real surprise if 2024/25 winner Ousmane Dembele is not at the top of the list. The PSG attacker surged his way to the award by netting 16 times across his final 16 Ligue 1 appearances of the season, making him the likely and rightful favourite for next season’s prize.
