IT'S the start of the quarter-finals tonight with a double-header in Georgia.

First up it's Mexico v Trinidad and Tobago at 8.30pm followed by Panama v Cuba at 11.30pm, both live on ESPN.

Mexico finished second in Group A behind Panama and beat Martinique and Canada convincing to bag six points. As I've said before this is their second string so for me they're too short at a best 4-11 with Betfred and Ladbrokes to beat T&T.

The Caribbean outfit are a best 9-1 at BetVictor and if they can get the best out of Stoke striker Kenwyne Jones the best bet could be T&T plus one at 9-4 with Paddy Power.

Panama topped Group A after two wins then a draw against Canada when they rested players and are hot favourites against Cuba. The Cubans went down by three goals to Costa Rica and the USA before battering minnows Belize 4-0 to make it through as one of the best third-placed sides.

It would be a massive surprise if Panama failed to win but as they are no bigger than 1-3 at William Hill and Coral I've made my Super Single Panama -1 at 1-1 with Titanbet and others.

All Panama's goals have been scored by Colombian-based midfielder Gabriel Torres and he is 10-11 at boylesports to score at anytime and 7-2 with Betway to bag the opener.

Recommended Bets

Panama -1
(1-1, Titanbet)

Torres to score first
(7-2, Betway)

T&T +1
(9-4, Paddy Power)

I thought the recommended bet was torres to score 1st ????

bad jasper, tipped them both but bad bad jasper always focuses on the negative.

    • bad jasper 11 years ago

any more and I will become evil jasper.
im pithed about Longford mr fixer, sorry if I sound bitter.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

bad jasper, what you and others have to remember is Longford beat my line too. Any treble I tip I back so they’re not put up without thought.

the Trinidad +1 is a good value bet.
you get the draw which is the same as double chance.
but double chance only pays 2.89 with hills, which is under 2-1.
but in reality Trinidad are pants, but could well sneak – low scoring draw v mexico ressies.

Hello me 9 years ago 😆

Bad Jasper- It is just recommended bet and Mr F gave a good explanation above. Being wary I always do large stakes on sure bets and very tiny stakes unsure bets.

So I’m sure Mr F didn’t do any recommendations on stake value. I only had it with my research and confidence.

    Cheers :D

Me Fixit tipped him first and anytime so if you wanted to be on the safe side you should have done him anytime that way you would have still been paid out regardless of when he scored

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Chris, I usually do both when backing a first scorer unless the odds are restrictive. Don’t think many would have backed Cuba to score first though.

Looking at some prices for the Celtic game for goalscorers. Prices short but some bets of interest. Lustig is 20/1 first goal but I think I’m going to home in on Scott Brown. He is 14/1 with Coral for first goal and 11/2 anytime. He is 9/4 anytime with William Hill. Samaras will have backers at 8/11 for anytime at Coral which is decent value compared to William Hill laughable 1/6 for anytime.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Chris, I dug up Hills over Lustig price for the first leg and guess what they said. “We got it right” was the smug response after he scored first. I’d like to see teams to be honest but I’d be looking at Commons who hit post and bar in the first game.

  9. Chris Guy 11 years ago

Paul he’s 9/1 in the second leg too. If someone gives me 25/1 I might back him again. Commons best price of 7/2 so far, I’d be wanting at least 5/1 or 6/1 for him

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Chris, let’s see the teams. Will Mulgrew or Ledley be available?

    • Hank 11 years ago

If Lustig is only 9/1 then Commons at 5s or 6s is realistically never gonna happen is it….

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Hank, it’s unlikely but some firms might focus on Samaras and maybe even Balde who scored today.

  10. Hank 11 years ago

I think Lennon will go for his strongest possible line up. James Forrest provides immense value imo, his pace is a big threat against these teams and he could’ve had a brace on wednesday.

Bold pick with the T&T Super single Mr.F, i know its Mexico ressies but i have been super unimpressed with trinidad this tournament.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Hank, Panama -1 was the Super Single. T&T plus one is my tip on that game. I’ve not been impressed with either side and as I can’t pick it T&T look the value. Anyway it’s still 0-0 and going to watch some of it but will probably fall asleep after the break.

theres a mistake on ladbrokes systems you can get over 10 corners in the mexico game for 5/4 – thers been 8 so far still 45minutes to go i just stuck 200 on get in there quick

  13. Lee Carswell 11 years ago

lol went to lump another 100 on there its been taken down haha

  14. Lee Carswell 11 years ago

Wooooo easiest and fastest 250 ever won

  15. Dee 11 years ago

Sorry Lee. A small correction you only won 50 ;)

  16. Dee 11 years ago

    Well done Lee :D

  17. Lee Carswell 11 years ago

    200 at 5/4 is 250 profit

hopefully ladbrokes honours this and dont try and wriggle out on there mistake

    • Dee 11 years ago

Sorry Lee. I’m not wriggling anything. I’m just saying that 200 is your stake and 50 is your profit :D

      200 x 1.25 = 200+50

      Pardon me If I’m wrong.

      Cheers ;)

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Lee, they might honour it but they don’t have too if it’s clearly human error.

  18. Dee 11 years ago

    Mexico goallll….. :D

Just had mexico win @ 2.75.

    Hope it comes up !!!

  19. Dee 11 years ago

    Mexico won finally :D :D

    What a tight match !!!

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Dee, managed to stay up and lost my money at the end. That’s it for the night.

  20. Lee Carswell 11 years ago

yeh i know its still not settled but if they had it up at 5/4 at half time for over 10 corners and 8 corners already in the match .

I can argue that if the bet lost they would not have refunded the money and also that alot of times i misput on bets so should they refund me everytime i do that and they lose

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Lee, re the corners bet, don’t know if it’s settled yet but unfortunately you have no argument if they refuse to pay. They’ve made a mistake, you know it, and if they spot it they’ll pay you at what the price should have been. If they don’t spot it you’ve done well to get on at 5-4. But anyone who places a bet knowing the price is a mistake should be aware they might not get paid so don’t count your winnings until they’re in your account. Even then I’ve seen examples when bookies take back the cash.

  21. Lee Carswell 11 years ago

I know you were right mrf they refused to pay they paid it out at 1/11 raging haha

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Lee, it’s unlucky but you know that was right price at least.
