SATURDAY night matches went pretty much as expected apart from the fact Cuba scored. USA hit back to win 4-1 with Landon Donovan and Chris Wondolowski on target while Costa Rica won to nil.
Those two have booked their quarter-final spots as have Panama who complete their Group A campaign against Canada tonight.
Panama would like to finish top of the group but won't get it all of their own way against a side who can still qualify as one of two best third-place teams despite losing their first two games without scoring.
Canada lost their opener 1-0 to Martinique then went down 2-0 to Mexico after coach Colin Miller lost star players Simeon Jackson and Marcus Huber.
Miller reckons the display against Mexico was an improvement from the opener but with young players and no top forwards in the squad his men face a tough task against Panama.
If Panama want this they should win and they are a best 1-1 with Paddy Power. Best bet could be under 2.5 goals. Panama aren't prolific and Canada are really struggling and every game bar one in Group B has been under and with no to both to score. However, under 2.5 goals is no bigger than 4-7 at Stan James.
The other game sees Mexico tackle Martinique and you have to fancy the Mexicans who bounced back well from their opening loss to Panama to see off Canada.
Martinique have a good chance of progressing as one of two third-best teams but for me this is a narrow Mexico win and they are a best 2-5 at BetVictor and Stan James.
Under 2.5 goals must have a chance again and is a better price at 10-11 with Stan James.
Recommended Bet
Panama (8.30pm)
(1-1, Paddy Power)
Martinique v Mexico under 2.5 goals (11pm)
(10-11, Stan James)
One bet for me tonight and its Blas Perez first Goalscorer. Torres who scored twice against Mexico is on the bench so this leaves Perez upfront. The veteran striker who is 6ft 2 is Panamas top Goalscorer and has scored 29 goals in 74 games. His club team is FC Dallas and he has scored 15 in 32 games. He wears my luck no 7 shirt so fingers crossed. Be careful though if you are going to back him anytime as it has a feeling for unders and according to reports he is unlikely to play the full 90 mins.
£100 Blas Perez First Goalscorer 9/2 @ Boylesports and Skybet.
He is 7/2 with William Hill and 10/3 with VC
I have a Mexico panama £50 double what you reckon
Stuck £50 on 1-0 and 2-0 which is down but had £100 on Fabian first goal with Skybet @ 5/1 which was a price boost from 9/2 so £600 back and £300 overall profit for tonight so happy with that.
