CELTIC have shown there's no such thing as a cert but tonight I fancy the favourites to make winning starts to their Betfred Cup campaigns.
The new-look tournament kicks off with three ties including Arbroath v Dundee United in Group C live on BT Sport.
Tonight's other games see Partick Thistle travel to Airdrie in Group E and Raith Rovers head to Highland League Cove Rangers in Group D.
It may be competitive football but not as we know it. Many teams will use the four games in the group stage as prep for the league season and ring rust could be a factor.
Dundee United have turned to Ray McKinnon to transform their fortunes and the Championship side are backable at 1-2 with the sponsors and should cover the minus one handicap at 27-20 with Coral against the League Two outfit.
McKinnon's men are 7-4 second favourites with Betfred to win Group C with Inverness 11-8 and Dunfermline 11-4.
Thistle have been busy in the summer and made some decent signings – Ziggy Gordon, Chris Erskine, Danny Devine and Ade Azeez. As long as they gel quickly Alan Archibald's men should win this at 1-2 with Betfred.
Raith face a banana skin but will expect to come through and if you fancy backing the three Friday favourites you can have 2-1 with Betfred.
Remember if a match ends in a draw there will be a penalty shoot-out with the winners receiving a bonus point – so if you're going to a game don't leave early.
If you fancy a punt on group winners consider a treble on Ross County, Partick and Dundee at 9-2.
