THIS thread is for football chat – not tips – and there should be plenty of it on a busy Saturday.

The FA Cup takes pride of place in England but should their be rules about how many players sides can rest – this is a top tournament that should respected by clubs big and small. And it would be easier for punters if everyone fielded their best line-ups.

Also how do you think the BBC are faring with their coverage – the one negative for me is the split of games but it's good to see matches on terrestrial TV. Shame they're losing the Open golf but that's another story.

You can talk about anything football-related here that is not a tip – so please use it. Have a rant about a ref decision or how your team played.

Keep it clean and don't be bigoted or racist.

My big mate is one of Lee Wallace best mates and he has said he may well leave Rangers next week, where to I don’t know. Also Kenny Miller and McCulloch allegedly came to blows in training yesterday.

There will always be scuffles at training you cant get on with everyone at your work.As for Wallace he has not kicked a ball for Rangers this season. But I get the drift of your post the club has a disease right through it the now.

Mr F, delighted with BBC’s coverage of the FA cup, but cannot believe they surrendered the Open golf to Sky who now have almost every golf event. gutted and happy but mostly gutted :)

Don’t know if this has been flagged up but betfred are giving new customers 6/1 for Arsene Wenger to wear a coat when they play Brighton 2 Moro down in the south coast on what should be a bitter afternoon.

When do you cover ? Or what amount to win and cover ?

Did a bet earlier on today Real Madrid and Barca to score in both halves.

Seen a few comments on covering bets are a must in betting, shoved £20 to win £50 it was 1-1 well on the 1st half so I shoved £10 on no goal so I waited and Real scores late on to keep the £50 bet alive but of course I bet £10 on a cover so Still stand to win £20 if barca score in both halves now. But did I waste £10 on doing the cover bet as the original stake was only £20 to win £50 so basically is covering only really worth it when the cover is relying on covering a bigger win so to speak ? Or is gambling just that and should I have just let the bet run regardless ?

One punter had a straight £100 double on Middlesbrough (9/1) and Bradford (28/1) which paid £29,000, while another staked just £2 and collected nearly £25,000 when Leicester, Crystal Palace and Derby also obliged. A third collected over £36,000 thanks also to West Brom, who beat Birmingham 2-1.

The bookies always come out with these stories to attract new punters who think they can do the same.

    Derby V Chesterfield.
I am Chesterfield fan, who could not get a ticket in the away end.
Could have got a ticket with our blood brothers, being Derbyshire, in the home end like many others, but chose not to.
By all accounts we played very well, even some of the Derby fans after the match said that we will go up.
Gary Roberts was missed today, and he is out for 6 weeks.
he is getting on, but when he is playing 2 players have to mark him.
I will be glad when he is back.
Genuine info like this priceless for betting purposes.
    Happy Punting!
