NOT sure what the tennis boys are thinking but I'm getting on this one before the tournament starts next week.
It's almost time for the first tennis Grand Slam of the season and in my eyes Novak Djokovic can't be beaten. Did anyone see his display in routing Rafael Nadal at the weekend.
I've never seen him play better and with Andy Murray continuing to lose to the Serb and with one eye on a possible early return home in case his baby is a few weeks premature it's all about the world No.1.
He has won five times in Melbourne including four of the last five and clearly loves the event.
Djoko was 10-11 before that Nadal masterclass but is now a best 8-11 with the likes of William Hill so it's not great but I'm risking a lumpy bet. I'll also be backing 3-0 in all of his early matches if I can get any sort of price.
Murray is a 11-2 second favourites with William Hill and Roger Federer 8-1 ahead of 12-1 Nadal.
Men’s Australian Open (William Hill prices): 8/11 Djokovic, 11/2 Andy Murray, 8/1 Roger Federer, 12/1 Rafael Nada, 14/1 Stan Wawrinka, 22/1 Kei Nishikori, 40/1 Thomas Berdych, 50/1 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, 50/1 Marin Cilic, 50/1 Milos Raonic, 50/1 Nick Kyrgios, 66/1 Grigor Dimitrov, 80/1 Bernard Tomic, 100/1 David Ferrer.

A bad day for me on the basketball yesterday. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to get onto Hunters fourfold for the first time in a while and had an awful night in this NBA and NBAAF yesterday. I had a bad feeling about GSW against a -13.5 spread but unfortunately left the game alone opposed to following my hunch (who bets against the Warriors?!) I also thought Spurs was the bet of the day but there was no team news out before bed so I left that alone too. I also had Bama -6.5 which was another loser with them winning by 5. Aww well…time to win those 10pts lost back today! Let’s go winners thread!!
Warriors didn’t cover the 13.5 spread bro, they won by 8… so you did good avoiding.
I know mate, what I mean is, I should have followed my gut and took Miami +13.5
Oh right lol, wasn’t clear. Miami were also in my sights yesterday, but I had taken a couple of days off so resisted, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Some interesting match ups tonight…
3-0 in the first few rounds won’t carry much value, the value will be the total amount of games, federer is always worth backing in this market as well for atleast 3 rounds
Cycling: World Championships Cyclo-Cross 2016 (31st of January)
Odds are online for this race at the end of January. I think this is going to be a two horse race between Van Aert and Van der Poel. I was surprised the bookies have Van Aert as the short odds favourite as I think VDP has a better chance to win it. The odds for a VDP win are too big as the odds should be at least 50/50. The race will take place in Belgium and I think Belgian rider Van Aert isn’t as mentally strong as VDP and will have problems with the pressure from the public and media. It’s also a fast course with a hard surface and not a lot of muddy sections which suits VDP more than Van Aert. VDP also beat Van Aert (and won) on the same course on Boxing day in a World cup race last December.
Mathieu van der Poel to win @ 3.35 with Betway
7 from 8 on the fourfolds yesterday which was great. It’s a tricky looking card today with not much in the way of domestic games. There is the Eurocup but this is always tricky as most of these teams have never played one another. Euro encounters always seem to throw up some strange results so not sure yet if I’ll put up any singles….might just stick with low risk, high reward strategy with a fourfold. Anyway, I have my selections which I think look good from my analysis….
EuroCup Fourfold
PAOK / Limoges (Over 141.5)
Milano (-5)
Mons-Hainaut (-11.5)
Chalon Saone (-3)
Fourfold at just under 6/1 -Skybet – 1pt staked.
Good luck!
(Just noticed there are two other sports threads today … weird)
On it Hunter! Didn’t have same odds available but have a slightly ‘safer’ fourfold at 4/1.
Realised Milano’s name is actually … “Emporio Armani Milano” weird sponsor haha.
@oriaz You got the right one bud. Emporio Armani are based in Milan along with Milano Basketball team, so I guess it makes sense.
oriaz, only one sports thread plus a tennis tip from me.
hunter and others, sports tips and comments should go on usual sports thread. Any Aussie Open comments can go on the tennis post.
HUNTER SAVE US , we all got gubbed last night….
Including me mate!! I lost yesterday’s profit on the NBA? Think I might just stick to EuroHoops as I keep throwing away profit. Tough card today but fingers crossed!
Same here mate, always seem to chuck away profits on the NBA, think I might start giving it a miss too
Say – Hallo Friends !!!

Yesterday…. :(
Hallo? Good selection….I hope!
Decided against singles today and gonna try my luck at another Fourfold….
EuroHoops Fourfold
Nevezis (-4)
Krka (+14.5)
Uppsala Basket (-9)
Evreux (1st Half -1.5)
Fourfold @ just under 5/1 Skybet – 1pt staked.
Good luck!
Hunter…what do you think of Horsens -8.5? They’re are home to Team FOG in a league that they are absolutely blowing away. Played 15, won 15 having beaten second place Bakken Bears by 9 a few weeks ago and Team FOG by 15 in the last game between the two.
Has a good chance mate but remember Naestved are pretty competitive in this league. Don’t want to put you off it as I think it’s a good bet but Horsens and Bakken have let me down a few times on the spreads.
Just checked the H2H and I think the spread seems about right. Maybe slightly favour them to cover -8.5 based on the most recent encounter.
Maybe worth going -7.5 @ 5/6 Skybet?
Disappointing night as the warriors failed to win by 11 after the spurs won comfortably, therefore no 4 doubles in a row.
V sure that the Cavs will cover the spread today so will stick to the single bet tonight, the mavs have been v poor of late and i expect a double digit win for the Cavs
10/11 Cavs SPread -6 , 4points with 365
gone for a tennis treble (Buenos Aries)
Roberto Carballes Baena
Gerald Melzer
Facundo Arguello
treble odds 1.19/1 @willhill
I felt like I needed a break recently so took a couple of days off betting, coming back today with a clear mind..
I’ve had a bit of time this morning so locked in a bet early.
Phoenix Suns @ Indiana Pacers Under 204.5 (PP) – 1.2 Points.
Indiana’s defence has been solid recently, taking a look at their last 4 games they’ve kept teams at 95 points or under (in regular time). Averaging 89 OPG (opponent points per game) in the previous 4.
Phoenix have been in bad form recently, winning just 1 of their last 11, averaging 84.7 points in their last 5 games.
I’m also interested to see what Phoenix’s Team Total will be (markets not open yet), anything around 96/7 would be a good bet for the under.
Good luck.
raoul duke, again this is on the wrong thread.
My bad. I’ve moved it. I think the identical icons threw us off.

Hunter my main man nailing it with another fourfold!! Cheers mate!!
Another enhanced treble from Will Hill.
Cavs, Spurs, Grizzlies – All Money Line.
3-1 from 12-5
Grizzlies could be tight (Rockets have very similar win-loss records)- however home advantage should count. Grizzlies are 13-6 at home and Rockets are 7-10 away.
Reckon with the extra value this is worth a few quid- Max bet £20
