TWO picks for tonight – one from Wales and a Night Owl from Brazil.

HOLYHEAD HOTSPUR v BANGOR CITY (7.30pm)

Last time I posted a pick featuring Holyhead, I ended up catching a ferry from there the very next day back in October – since then, the hosts form has not only been all at sea – it’s pretty much sunk without a trace.

That game finished with a 5-0 defeat to Rhyl and it’s been one of the many humpings that have paved The Hotspur's path towards a clear bottom of the table place; in the last 13 matches alone, 8 have featured 4 or more goals with 6 of those seeing the goal-meter hit 5+ with a further featuring 6 match goals…mostly picked out of their own net.

Well worth noting though, Holyhead contributed at least a goal in 8 of those 13 games and despite their abysmal form, they do have a goal in them…and a very recent and rare win against 2nd bottom Llanrhaeader – but, they’ll need everything they’ve got tonight as they face Elvis Parsley’s Bangor.

The Maes-D massive are looking good in 2nd spot and have themselves featured in some absolute whackers as they look for a return to the top flight at the first time of asking; 50% of their own last 12 fixtures have featured 4 or more goals whilst 4 of those matches saw them score between 5 and TEAM goals!

The last H2H back in December was yet another game featuring 5 goals as Bangor ran out 4-1 winners at home – interestingly, each of the last 3 H2H’s saw both sides score and although Bangor ought to blitz Holyhead, I don’t wonder if the hosts can grab at least a goal towards the total tally.

Recommended bet

  • Over 4 match goals
  • (5-4, Bet365 – Betbuilder Tab) ???

CORINTHIANS U20 VS. GRÊMIO U20 (11.30pm)

Quarter-final time and both sides have looked great throughout the SPYC Tournament having progressed courtesy of 8-0 and 3-0 victories in the last round.

Whilst I’d argue Corinthians are the better side, I’d counter that with Gremio having had a tougher route through to this stage but still making the grade; the two are certainly amongst the most established youth outfits in SA and have plenty of history in this cup.

Corinthians look a good price for the win and although you can get around 4-5, I think Gremio will have a thing or two to say about this game and whilst markets are fairly limited with most bookies, I’ve found a couple of bets and prices that really appeal from William Hill – especially given the last 4 H2H’s finished 3-1, 2-1, 1-4 and 2-1.

Recommended bets

  • BTTS & over 2.5 goals
  • (5-6, William Hill) ????
  • Over 3.5 match goals
  • (11-8, William Hill) ??
