HAPPY New Year to all the site members and here's to a cracking 2020!

I'm looking to start the '20's with a bang in the form of a team goals double hailing from high-flying sides in League Two and The National League North…

YORK CITY VS. BRADFORD PA

York were my lower league antepost pick last season but after a great early start, the wheels fell off and they had a disappointing end to the campaign.

My interest had been piqued as I'd followed a massive local investment in the side which, coupled with a move away from Bootham Crescent pointed to brighter days for this once well established league side.

As it happens, I was right about the turnaround but was a season out…story of my life!

York have been solid from the off with their only slightly iffy period being their most recent – I'm taking them to dish out some serious GBH to BPA and get back on track this afternoon though.

Bradford's lesser known outfit have been in pretty hideous form all season and have conceded a pretty eye-watering rate of goals leaving them with a g/d of -49…a figure 18 goals worse off than their nearest rivals!

BPA have conceded 5-2-3-2-2 goals in their last consecutive 5 matches and , whilst York have sat in the aformentioned dip, they have hit 2-3-1-2-5 team goals across the last 5 H2H meetings.

CREWE ALEXANDRA VS. CARLISLE UNITED

Crewe won't quite claim top spot with a victory today, but they can close the gap to just 2 points with a game still in hand upon Exeter and Swindon, the two sides above them.

Like York, the future looks bright for Crewe and their recent form has been excellent with 4 wins and a draw making up their last 5 matches – contrast that with today's opposition Carlisle whose own most recent 5 constitute 1 win and 4 losses and we have the potential for a solid looking pick.

H2Hwise, Carlisle certainly held the bragging rights in the period between 2017 and 2018 but both of 2019's fixtures saw Alex claim the points aling with a combined toral of 6 team goals!

The hosts home form in particular is key here and, having hit 3-1-3-5-2 team goals in successive games at Gresty Road, they have plenty of potential to add a couple more this afternoon.

I wouldn’t disagree with you on Alex scoring 2+ but Utd’s form isn’t 1-0-4. Not in all competitions, not away in the league, not under any definition.

*sorry, should read 1 win in 5 away from home! (it’s actually 1-2-2)

Cheers Kyle – been a while since I put up a 5 star so good to see it home and hosed…shame no York 3rd for the 4/1 👍
