Rizz was due to return tonight for Wednesday's racing, but unfortunately, he could not make it as planned. Rizz will return tomorrow for Thursday's card.

I was extremely disappointed in both of the performances from my two selections on Tuesday, particularly my main selection Miss Honey, who seems to have gone three steps backwards from her win on debut two weeks ago. William Buick went to the front on Miss Honey and despite looking extremely awkward throughout the contest, she held every chance once entering the business end. When he asked her to go and win the race, she petered out quite tamely, which was disappointing given she was backed into around even money from the advised odds of 3/1.

Stardinia's performance was a similar sort of story. Egan rode her up with the pace, but she fell away when push came to shove. I'm not sure if that effort was a bad day at the office or if she didn't stay the extra furlong.

Love Is The Way 11/4 – Bath 8.20

I'm hoping my sole selection on Wednesday is worth the wait, as it comes from one of the later races in the evening at Bath in the shape of the George Scott-trained Love Is The Way.

Only six horses go to post for this contest, but a fair few of them arrive in great form, particularly the market favourite Union Island, who arrives here in search of a four-timer. Union Island is very much thriving at present, and given that her previous two wins have come at Bath over this very same distance, you would have to say he is the one to beat. Union Island is up another 6lb for his recent win here two weeks ago, but he seemingly had a bit in hand on that occasion, which would suggest she is more than capable of going in again.

With that said, I've decided to take him on with George Scott's Love Is The Way, who could potentially be the value angle into taking on the market principle.

My selection arrives here on the back of a third-place effort at Lingfield last month, and despite finishing third, I thought it was a cracking effort given the circumstances. Love Is The Way had a nightmare run last time out, having to come from the rear of the field to make her challenge. Coming from off the pace at Lingfield is not ideal at the best of times but she made of some good ground as she went through the gears, and if positioned better on the day, she probably would have gone close to winning as she was only beaten by two and a half lenghs in the end. Given only six go to post, jockey Callum Shepard should have no traffic issues this time around, and hopefully he can position his mount better this time around when making his challenge into the straight.
