I was very disappointed with Hitman Fred's performance on Wednesday. He looked toast on the back straight of the final circuit and though he has previous form on soft ground, it looked like the ground might've not been great for him. He has been in great form, so I can't exactly find another reason for that poor run.

After looking through the Wetherby card, nothing really stood out to me as a good bet. There are some decent races there, but I think it looks like a difficult day in terms of a bet.
This race at Gowran Park is also difficult, but due to the number of runners, I think you'll be able to get some value in this. The one I like is CAREFULLY SELECTED who is trained by Willie Mullins and is a horse who has clearly had problems but used to have a very good amount of ability. He was off the track for over 1000 days before his most recent run which was 30 days ago, and I think that race was to get him out on the track and see where they were at with him. He's got to improve massively for that run, but the fact that Paul Townend partners him suggests they think he is in good form and is capable of running a very big race.
This horse was a very good bumper horse, reaching ratings in the low 140's which saw him finish as runner-up in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham behind Relegate. He is a very lightly raced for an 11yo, with just 11 runs over rules which has yielded 6 wins. He has done well over fences before his return which saw him win a few races until reaching the NH Chase at Cheltenham in 2020 where he was sent off as 10/11F. He didn't quite see out the 3m 6f that day, but the support behind suggested that he was a horse who is very classy.
In a race of this nature, you're going to need a fair bit of luck in running, but it's been a race that Willie Mullins has done well in recent years, winning 4 of the last 10 renewals as well as others going close in the years he didn't win. And at odds of around 9/1 in a race where bookmakers are offering extra places, I make him a good bet.

Much like Munnys Gold at Gulfstream last night(managed to get 4/6) before going off at 2/9 Overstep must be taken in trust it’s fit after a great start to its career but big lay off.
One first horses in my tracker I thought it been off to pasture at the glue factory! Tipped up BUT unlike Munnys Gold …Overstep has been away 18 months odd not 250 days but hopefully 13/8 looks as silly as Munnys Gold last night but better price and definitely a trainer to have it ready.
