Racing Tips: Wednesday’s Free Horse Racing Tips at Lingfield and Kempton

It was a bitterly disappointing day. My each-way play Lihyan drifted out to 25s but actually ran a decent race given the conditions but unfortunately didn't manage to hit the frame.

Skytasic was my main selection of the day and was extremely disappointing. I personally didn't think he was travelling that badly but he quickly came off the bridle a long way from home and was eventually pulled up. I'll probably not be on him again given his past two runs have been poor but a part of me still thinks there's a decent horse in there.

Wednesday's horse racing is pretty poor and to be honest nothing really jumped out at me besides a short-priced favourite but I have thrown up two runners as I know some don't like going for short-priced runners.

Rabaah 4/5 – 1:45 Lingfield

Jim Crowley comes to Lingfield for just the sole ride on Rabaah for trainer Charlie Hills.

Rabaah is trading at 4/5 which I know some in the thread will feel there's not much value in that but I think 4/5 is actually a decent price for this selection as I expect it to shorten overnight. If you are deciding on taking the selection I advise taking the price of 4/5 and placing your bet tonight rather than in the morning.

Rabaah hasn't been racing since last May, but I wouldn't let that put you off. Charlie Hills is a stern trainer and he's one for having a horse ready to go after a break.

Rabaah showed some definite promise as a 2year old when finishing 3rd at Leicester in a class 4 maiden over 6f and there's some nice substance to the form of that particular run.

The eventual winner of that race at Leicester ( Show Respect ) went on to finish second in the July Stakes and is now rated in the mid-100s. Catch the paddy who finished 2nd and also went on to win a couple of races and there are one or two more who finished behind Rabaah on the day who have also gone on to win races.

Billy Mill 5/1 – Kempton 5:00

Only the 7 runners go to post for the opener at Kempton and I was slightly surprised to see my selection Billy Mill priced up as big as 5/1. I'll be interested to see if that price shortens closer to the time or if it drifts which has been the story of my life this week on some of my selections.

Billy Mill hasn't been seen since winning a class 3 handicap at Newcastle last September. He won that race quite nicely.

There's some form to that run. Eagle way who was previously trained by Ivan Furtado won on debut for trainer Andrew Hollinshead over in France.

Billy Mill drops down into a class 4 and a bold bid is expected.
