Georgeville at the Curragh was looked in need of the run. He was weak in the market before, travelled powerfully, but when asked to go and win his race he didn't really have the effort to go with the rest. Possibly one for next time.
Windsor 3:30
A trappy little sprint race, but my eye was drawn to THE PRINCES POET, trained by Eve Johnson Houghton and ridden by William Buick. This horse is 2/2 at the track, so it's fair to say he knows where the finishing line this. He can be a little slow away in his races, which isn't ideal at this track, but if he breaks on terms then he has a good stall to take advantage of it, being drawn in stall 3. Eve's yet to have a winner this year, which is a worry, but the booking of William Buick suggests they fancy their chances in this. Buick has rode this horse to a win before, so gets on well with him, and he has a good record when riding for this yard. He has recorded 15 wins from 73 rides, equaling a SR of 21%. Charles Bishop who is the stable jockey for Johnson Houghton has a ride in this race, so it's interesting they've booked the champion jockey.
Pontefract 4:50
Another yard who has yet to get a winner this year is John Berry's, but his yard isn't the biggest and he doesn't get the opportunity of other stables at Newmarket who have some nice types. John sends one to Pontefract where he has only sent 6 in the last 5 years, even though that has yielded no winners, DEREHAM ran well when last year at the Yorkshire track, finishing 2nd. He was running a very big race, and would've gone close to winning if it wasn't for being impeded and nearly being put through the rail. He was staying on strongly that day over 2m 2f, so this extra 3f looks interesting. Megan Nicholls has won twice from six runs for John Berry, so looks a good jockey booking. The ground on Sunday was described as Soft, Good To Soft in places, and even though they are expecting no rain from then to the start of racing, the ground will be quite tacky and is going to be a stamina test either way, which I think will suit this lad. He comes into this race after a decent run on the AW just over a week ago, over a trip which is probably too short for him these days, and that would've got him right for this race.

I once backed this at the Cheltenham festival 😂😂. Went off 7-1 and finished 9th
In the 2019 triumph hurdle won by pentland hills when ridden by ruby walsh
25-1 today, might have a quid each way in case he remembers how to run.
