MOONLIGHT (3.45) appeared an improving filly worth following when scoring at Thirsk a fortnight ago and is fancied to follow up at Musselburgh on Tuesday.
That success came over seven furlongs but Kevin Ryan’s three-year-old was strong at the finish so should appreciate this mile test. Moonlight had Little Ted, a well-backed winner at Thirsk next time out, back in seventh and my selection is 3lbs better off today.
LADY SCATTERLEY (3.15) ended last season on a high when mopping up a Pontefract maiden (soft) and shaped well when third to Nataleena at Redcar earlier this month. She likes to dictate and forcing tactics are likely to be employed over this shorter distance.
Vampish was always handy at Beverley, leading two out before being worn down by Zabeel Star. She is clearly in good heart and rates a danger along with top weight Firewater, beaten a head by Colony Queen at Newcastle.
