A couple of strange rides for Thursday and an overall rubbish day with both selections underperforming in my opinion. I think the ride on Kensington was honking, he took the horse very wide around the bend, then he let her glide back through the field, got her boxed in on a couple of occasions and gave her no chance whatsoever.

Newmarket 1:15 – Like A Tiger 11/2 (0.5pt EW)

As we approach a very important weekend of racing, I was hoping for a couple of selections for Friday, but nothing really screamed out to me as a worthwhile bet other than Like A Tiger.

This race doesn't look as good on paper as it normally is based on the last 10 or so renewals, this race has chucked up some really nice horses for the future with the likes of HawkbillPermian and Mishriff winning it before going on to bigger and better things, this race doesn't look to have that level of horse, so I think you can afford to think outside the box and go for a selection like Like A Tiger who comes into this from winning a handicap in impressive style over today's C&D.

He won by 4L a couple of weeks ago, and though he went into that race being rated 83, I think he looked like a horse who could definitely compete at Class 1 level, and he must've improved from 2yo to 3yo over the winter. The way in which he pulled clear of the field that day was impressive on the eye and his knee action suggested that soft ground would be ideal for him. The ground at the time of writing is good to firm, but Newmarket is expecting a few millimetres of rain overnight and in the morning, so I'm hoping it buckets it down and turns the ground to at least good to soft.

The other one which tempted me was Waipiro who was also impressive over the C&D in a handicap, he looks like he wants further and his pedigree would suggest that too, as well as quick ground.

admins please delete the moderated posted, i have amended the link to bypass the filter, hopefully all is fine.

i record oddschecker race cards the night before to aide my betting for the next day. it isn’t a science, but it can only help, i have uploaded to youtube for the thread. i find it can help discount ones, but also spot “gambles”, for instance O’meara’s Kentucky Bluegrass was 33s into 10s, so I got on and it clung on to setting me up lovely. completely free, no agenda etc so hopefully admins dont mind a link being posted.

Always one that lets you down but I’m happy with that ! Obviously the horse never had its balls squeezed before the race 😂

  3. dazzman1979 1 year ago

The bookie told me tonight they squeeze dogs testicles before they sling them into the trap to hamper there performance 😂 I dunno why but that tickled me poor little buggers can see why some refuse to run at all led on the floor in the trap howling 😂

The rapist is down to run again 4-45 Newmarket but is up against stoute’s oaks hope infinite cosmos so on this occasion I’ll swerve him for the win.

The rapist is EVENS top 3 finish BETFAIR SPORTSBOOK so I’ll have an interest only stake with rizzells pick.

The rapist top 3 finish EVENS
    Like a tiger top 4 finish 4-6

the rapist likes to stalk them from behind, he often comes first but i might take a chance on him finishing second, although he did pull out last time so it’s anyone’s guess, maybe i’ll just enjoy watching.

    1425 Goodwood Clarendon House 8/1 e/w 3 places – ew extra for 5 or 6/1 isn’t the worst idea.

When a horse a head 2nd in this last year to RAASEL is 8/1 with 5 ahead of him in the market, you do have to suspect he is up against it. The decent apprentice takes off 5lbs but has never ridden for the trainer, that cost us a winner yesterday so it is something I am starting to deem less significant. RAASEL went up 14 and won a Group 3, we were carrying 5lbs more and once again show up here for our first run of the season. I am concerned by the soft in the description given he seemingly wants it firm but we can use the earlier races to gauge how soft it is, I suspect it wont be too bad. At 8/1 I am not overlooking him as I’ve placed 100 worse each way bets this year alone. The three others I’m highlighting will all enjoy the current going description. DREAM COMPOSURE is vying for favouritism, on form I can definitely see why, he also boasts very good Goodwood form. REIGNING PROFIT is a similar price coming here in good nick, as does his trainer, he carries next to no weight given the massive step up in class but the jockey booking does put me off, however that could be for genuine reasons. CAME FROM THE DARK let me down for a monumental four fold when last seen, he has had a run but not won for almost two years, that does put him 12 lower and I liked one from this combo yesterday who travelled nicely but didn’t finish off his race.

I’m not digging into any other races but Roger Varian and David Egan had a very nice 3yo out this week who won easy as you like, so his are of strong interest. Over in Ireland, Adrian McGuinness has a bunch out, his string all finished in the 20s last year but he does have one called NO MORE PORTER, I met a girl last year, last name Porter, randomly saw her yesterday, I’m blocked so the name did stand out to me :D sky are paying 6 but 365 are slower at updating prices so 12s is available for 5 places if you like my sound reasoning. Continuing with that lunacy, The Sopranos showed up in my feed today, too, Buick & Boughey have a 6/4 called SOPRANO, hopefully I find us something more solid when I wake up.

1640 cheltenham, Envious Editor was 2nd in this last year, had same prep and gets a claimer to put him 6 lower, the winner that day envoye speciale (RIP) won next time out, an impossible race to tip in for me, the 4/5 fav was in aintree race ES died in, he went off 11/2 whilst ES was 40/1 , so you’d suspect he’s a decent one. Envious is 4/1 so win only has to be pocket change – not looked at rivals either.

    Singapore saga 7-10 Cheltenham
    9-2 win bet365
    11-10 top 2 finish SKYBET.

Odds on favourite highway jewel has beat this easily previously in points and probably needs that to blow his lines to win.
Singapore saga has though only lost out to 2 decent rules hunters in shantou sunset and envious editor this year and the course here could help as he tends to jump out left by all accounts and Cheltenham is left handed

do u have a site for p2p results, or was that just mentioned in a summary on the site you use for looking at form?

    Trio for rio 6-00 Cheltenham
    7-2 win
    11-8 top 2 finish CORALS….

Won this race last 2 years and not that old at 10 for a hunter, points form been poor recently but obviously runs well here.

Favourite marcle ridge has been turned over as favourite on his last 2 runs under rules and his usual jockey has switched to trio for rio today which is positive.

      11-8 betting without premier magic 11-8 bet365.

Premier magic won the hunter here at the festival in march and several behind have won since so looking for scraps for a bet here.
Dandy Dan won this last year so at least has Cheltenham form unlike rebel dawn rising who pulled up at this meeting last year
