Helm Rock was very disappointing at Chepstow yesterday after being smashed into 10/11F. I seem to beat the market on a lot of occasions and when I'm on a gamble like yesterday it seems like it never pays off. Someones finger's were burnt from that gamble on Helm Rock, and it's strange how he didn't even get close to winning.

I tipped up VEE SIGHT earlier in the week at Pontefract when he was eventually a NR. That was in a novice race which I thought he would win, but the fact they decided to withdraw him and put him in this race is interesting.
His starting handicap mark is 74 and if they raced in a novice race and he won in good style, he could've blown his handicap mark by 5lbs+. In the grand scheme of things, a hike in the weights like that wouldn't be ground breaking but they must clearly feel he is well handicapped off his current mark to now decide to go for the handicap route where they could win 9k as opposed to 3k – 4k from a novice race.
SDS is a positive jockey booking for this yard with his 23% SR from 117 runs. This looks a competitive race, but I think this horse could have a fair bit in hand based on his siblings and the pedigree he possesses.

IT'S GOOD TO LAUGH was a tip from me for the Chester Cup and he had plenty of excuses for finishing 7th in that race and deserves another chance.
He was denied a clear run in the Chester Cup and was positioned towards the rear, which is always going to make life difficult at Chester, so the fact he finished 7th was a very good effort in my eyes. It's interesting they've opted to bring him back to Chester on the back of that run as he did well here last season and I believe off his current handicap mark he is still on a winning mark.
Joe Fanning is an interesting jockey booking as he likes to go forward on a lot of his mounts, so if they are trying positive tactics, he is a good jockey booking as he does often set the right fractions.
