IRON MIKE (12.50) can have his rivals on the canvas in round one of a cracking Lingfield card.
Keith Dalgleish sent out Soldier's Minute to land a gamble at Kempton earlier in the week and makes a raid on another southern circuit. Iron Mike ran an excellent third to Andrew Balding's Purdey's Gift at Wolverhampton and is likely to race up with the pace over this shorter trip. He was backed at nice prices early last evening but 11-2 was still available in a place or two at the time of writing.
AMJAADY (6.25) was beaten on the nod by Mayfair Spirit at Chelmsford City at the end of September but can go one better on a return visit to the Essex circuit. David O'Meara's three-year-old scored over 1m 2f at Leicester back in June and is holding his form.
At Kempton, JUST THE MAN (6.40) represents a big each-way bet at 11-2 with Paddy Power. Adam Kirby found a bit of bother at Sandown last time and wasn't hard on his mount when his chance had gone, running into fifth behind useful Sucellus. Just The Man found Migration too strong on an earlier visit to Sandown and handled Kempton's all-weather circuit well enough last December when runner-up in a decent Novice Stakes.
