Royal Rhyme won a strange race at Ayr. The race was blown wide open when Pride Of America went forward and stole a 5L lead on the field. Royal Rhyme wasn’t fazed by that and ate up the ground with no problem, and his progressive path on soft ground continues.
Nymphadora almost hung on at Newbury. Oisin tried to make all on the filly and she was eventually outdone by the rank outsider of the field, which is always annoying.
Curragh 3:00 – Go Athletico 7/2 (1pt)
With the amount of rain that the Curragh is expecting get, it massively brings Go Athletico into the frame.
I tipped him up on stable debut for Aidan McGuinness after he was bought for €165,000 out of the German yard of A Schutz. Normally, German form is quite iffy to follow and hard to compare to the British standard but he won very well over 5f on yielding ground before finishing 2nd to Art Power when Go Athletico would've gone very close to winning if he got any clear run in the race, he was blocked repeatedly and didn't get out till very late. Last time out he finished 2nd to Moss Tucker, at the time I thought that was a decent effort as it was on good ground which isn't his ideal ground, and the form was franked massively as the winner won the Flying Five Stakes Group 1 a few weeks ago.
I think today's conditions would probably be the ideal ones if you were to ask Aidan, his trainer. Though his two best RPRs have come over 5f and 5.5f I think 6f on soft will be his ideal conditions. He won nicely over 5f at Cork, but he was asserting himself at the line under a very big weight and I think there's more to come now Aidan puts him over 6f.

with so much racing I dont get involved at 4/5 but if you saw Aconcagua Mountain – 1450 Hamilton breeze up in a 20 runner affair on Thursday, you will be chancing him again today or at least throwing in him some, not all, of your accas. A slightly worse race with a claimer negating his penalty it is horse racing but this could be printing. I would be extremely shocked if he wasn’t fully trying, claimer won for trainer before, but also there for Charlie Johnston rides.

wasnt on personally, horse didnt show up, the jockey who i gave a nod to for charlie johnston just ended the day for me nicely though :D

330k to the winner of the Irish Cesarewitch has brought a very competitive field but providing he’s sufficiently recovered from his 4th in the Leger Tower of London must have a huge chance today.
Obvious choice but I’d be shocked if he didn’t at least make the first 6 so ew play.

last race at the curragh makes for very interesting viewing from a bunch of unknown jockeys. 5/4 fav drifts out to 13/8, jockey stops riding a long way from home, what a farce. i was on the 17/2 winner too and i feel dirty, sticking the winners on the next virtual race number 9
