Goodwood has turned into a swimming pool more than a racetrack at the moment and it's turned it into a very testing track, as well as a track which is biased by coming to the stand's side. If you don't race there then you've got little to no chance of winning, which is one of the reasons I prefer jumps racing to flat racing, as there are too many variables involved.
My selections yesterday were poor, that goes without being said. I'm not sure why Fast Response ran so badly, she handles soft ground, but maybe the heavy going and 7f plus she wasn't next to the rail all played a part. Tropical Island was slow out the gates and tried to go wide to deliver a challenge, which wasn't the ideal place, but the winner handles the ground much better than the rest and that's the key.
I don't want to get too involved at Goodwood based on how yesterday was, and nothing at Galway catches my eye either, and that's a difficult track to get it right, especially with a maximum amount of runners, so just one selection on Thursday for me.
Goodwood 3:35 – Blue Rose Cen EVS (3pt Bet365)
My favourite horse in training is without a doubt Blue Rose Cen, what a filly she is and has become this year after a fruitful season as a juvenile she has now become a 2x French Classic winner over a mile and 10f, and she is an ace horse and she put the stamina doubters in their place when she won in great style over 10f in the French Oaks last time out.
I think this race is all about her and I wouldn't worry about the track or the ground as she is proven on soft ground, and she has a good cruising speed to handle this quirky track. She normally has a pacesetter in her races this season, but they've opted to not go for that but I don't think that will be an issue. She might get an easy lead of things if Ryan Moore decides to take a pull on Above The Curve, but if Ryan fancies going from the front I don't think that will cause an issue for my selection as she has been used to running prominently behind the pacesetter in the last few runs.
She is a short price at EVS, but with the weight-for-age allowance I can't seem to find any negative for her, and the fact you can still get a price at EVS is quite surprising to me. People will fancy Nashwa on the back of her superb run over a mile last time around, but that was a weak race in hindsight with the runner-up running a stinker in a Group 1 in France last time around, and the others in behind not really amounting to much with Via Sistina being better over further too and needed slower ground at Newmarket.

Another pretty good day yesterday with Ash Tree Meadow winning the Plate and the other 3 horses I backed all placing.
Well done to all the other winners.
2.10 Joyeux Machin 13/8
Sir Argus will be a danger but JM has already had a run over fences and but for a bad mistake at the last could have won and with that experience it should give him the advantage today.
3.55 Keep in Touch 4/1
Both runs this season have been over 10f which just havent worked. Back down in trip today he ended last season with a 2nd to Caenarfon at Newmarket who was 4th in the 1k guineas and 3rd in the oaks.
5.05 Galway Hurdle
Both Willie Mullins and Tony Martin have won 8 of the last 9 renewals and while TM relies on last year’s winner Mullins is mob handed. Current fav Zarak the Brave could run away with it, but 4yr olds have a dreadful record in the race and 4/1 is a shocking price.
I put up Jesse Evans last week at 20s and is currently 16s. Was 2nd in the race last year beaten just 3/4L. Will want the rain to stay away and is 8lbs higher than last year but won on the flat recently so should be spot on for this.
I’ve also had a saver on Party Central 16/1 ew 6 places.
5.40 Stoke the Fire 5/2
Should take all the beating having just failed to win on his first run since Oct ’21. The winner won again nto from 7lbs higher.
BOL
Brilliant picking yesterday DC
Thank you
Joyeux Machin very poor there. Never would have backed Mars Harper, but him winning gives Sharjah’s win on Monday a huge boost.
Thankyou Elvis,👌, that’s one way to cure Constipation.😂😇👍😎
Lol, don’t eat ruby Murray’s myself but I get the joke 🇮🇳.
Was backed into 13-8 SP at the off.
Think bookies misread the form on this occasion
For anyone on blue rose cen bet365 currently have a super boost price of 11-8 boosted from 10-11.
Don’t know what max stake is ?.
I think nashwa will take all the beating on home turf and not having any betting interest but will be a good watch 🏇
b365 let me have a tenner on at 11/8
I hear some people got up to £40, tho.
They knew!!

Tipped Laughifyouwant on Monday and he ran a stinker.
Didn’t back him today and he goes and romps in.
This game can be so cruel at times !!
At 3/1 Nashwa has to be the bet in the Nassau

What path 4-30 Galway 🇮🇪
9-2 win
EVENS top 3 finish
20-80 stake
Carries top weight 11-7 and Mullins main hope based on jockey bookings (like that makes a difference 🤣🤣)
Last 3 winners of this carried 11-7, 11-8, 11-8 so not impossible winning under a penalty.
Won bumper here last year on good ground but this year’s 2 wins have been achieved on today’s good/yielding ground
2nd so profit made but the win would have been sweeter 😁

generous pricing for me as it looks like this one has been aimed at this race.
Emmett Mullins is a canny trainer at finding these types big handicaps to be well in, in if you get my drift.
Last 2 outings in the spring were 2nd and 3rd in 2 big field handicaps which look deeper than today’s race ( the Betfair hurdle at Newbury and the county hurdle at the Cheltenham festival)
