Tuesday sees racing action at Taunton, Lingeild and Southwell. Our expert racing tipster Alan Thomson has a trio of terrific bets from today's Southwell racing.
FANCY FOOTINGS (5.45) bumped into a rampant Suitcase ‘N' Taxi at Southwell in November but is poised to resume winning ways on the Fibresand.
Punters sent him off 13-8 favourite for that seven-furlong handicap but the concession of 9lb proved too much. Tom Dascombe sends him back up in trip and Fancy Footings, previously a winner in Ireland for Joseph O'Brien, can take the measure of chief rival Directory, up 4lb for his defeat of Tukhoom and Makambe over course and distance 18 days ago.
CRIMSON KING (4.15) can go well in the 1m 4f handicap. Mick Appleby applied blinkers instead of the usual visor when Crimson King chased home Angel Lane here on New Year's Day, the front pair pulling ten lengths clear. Sea Sculpture has been running in better class but has his first experience of Fibresand for Andrew Balding. Cold Harbour was touched off by Princess Harley last time and runs this track well.
Glendevon is the class act in the mile handicap but this is his first try on Fibresand wearing first-time cheek-pieces. In fact, MOSAKHAR (5.15) is the only horse in the race to have run at Southwell, scoring over course and distance 63 days ago, and the ability to handle this surface is a big factor in his favour.
