THE GILL BROTHERS (5.20) didn't enjoy the clearest of runs on handicap debut at Chelmsford City a fortnight ago but his luck could change on a return visit to the Essex track.
Stuart Williams has the three-year-old in tip-top form, the gelding's latest running-on third to Another Touch coming on the back of a comfortable course victory at Kempton. Market leader Fox Power has been off the track 237 days but looked pretty smart when last seen scooping a Listed event at Newcastle in April.
CANASTA (6.50) isn't blessed with an instant turn of speed but James Fanshawe's filly may have a little more improvement to come. She battled on under pressure to score at Wolverhampton but found a 6lb rise just too much to overcome when fourth in a blanket finish at Lingfield next time. This isn't a strong contest and Canasta is probably the one to beat.
COPPERLIGHT (5.35) caused a 28-1 shock at Newcastle last week but scored convincingly entirely on merit. The first-time cheek-pieces may have galvanised Ben Haslam's gelding and Copperlight can shrug off his fixed penalty on a quick turnaround at Wolverhampton.
