CAPTAIN TOM CAT (2.40) gets the decent ground he needs in the 2m 4f handicap hurdle at Cheltenham.
Dr Richard Newlands' gelding won here (good) in October and was unsuited by a softer surface on two subsequent outings before Christmas. Beauport hammered Riggs by 11 lengths at Sandown (soft) but has gone up 10lb. Here Comes McCoy and Quinta Do Mar are closely matched on Hereford form, while Global Society is sent back up in trip by Nicky Henderson.
MORETTI (5.40) goes well on a fast surface and is handily drawn on the rail in the one-mile fillies' handicap at Beverley. She scored twice at Yarmouth (firm) earlier in her career and was last seen winning at Newcastle in January. This extra furlong puts more of an emphasis on stamina but Moretti seems good each-way value.

jawwaal 4/1 is entered in a class 2 friday. he has performed well fresh the last two seasons and his trainer is in form. apreciable ground. the downside is we are top weight, 7 above his highest winning mark.
at the other end of the card, SALUTI carried 8-8, 19lbs less, making him 14lbs better off than when a 2l 3rd to jawwaal last summer. a CD winner off 83, we are 5 below that, but this is a bit of a step up in class.

bit annoying saluti didn’t place with the main jockey on whilst trainers other horse in the race does. then i went with hughes’s storm goddess was 2nd, his other ride won, and also chil chil who was a close enough 2nd, luckily i analysed the market in that race, nothing was seeing money and i already discounted the favourite.. and had a big 5 ew on count otto, was on it last time i think levey was on, big jims the man for perrett and especially his strike race at newmrkt recently, nearing his end perhaps, being a bit more selective, finally ended up with a nice priced winner in CASILLI, it paid even money so could’ve been worse. as you said least we going close.

yeah idk how you select them but it’s bound to come in handy somewhere. typically stick to eyeing the results, a bit of racing knowledge and form… im sure there’s much better strategies out there.. watching races and noting ones for next time, adding what they might be more suited to, and then if they get it next time out.. you go with it… reduces the luck aspect, adds patience/discipline and seems an all round more likely winning plan. is the one thing i dont really like about this site, sure it isn’t the place, but i dont think ive really been taught anything here, johnb used to go down interesting avenues, dc writes decent posts for big meets but besides that its just like all have our guess, then rinse and repeat constantly going round in a circle. yes we, LFC, can turn it up sometimes, but this season we play in 2nd gear, very slow, passive, lacking intensity, salah just runs into people, it really has been piss poor. i would never bet against us, but the way RM outplayed us last week and kept the ball etc… sheesh compared to the 1200 i donked off in 1 hour yday, i think it’s gotta be worth a bet for interest.

we’ve shown signs of the old and the new, they pass it well and find space more than most other teams who would lose the ball, can we keep up the work rate whilst keeping them at bay, not so sure so sooner we score the better.
