Racing tips: Back-to-Back Beverley Bullets looks on the cards for Tis Marvellous

2/3 on yesterday's selections was a decent return even though they weren't the best prices. Unfortunately, the last leg of the selections didn't get the clearest of runs through which is always annoying, but it's part of horse racing and you're bound to get that sometimes. Whether he would've been good enough to win, we'll never know as it happened a couple of furlongs out from home.

Cairnzy also had a good day banging in a couple of winners too, so if you don't read his post when he decides to put stuff up, make sure you do, there are winners in there!

Beverley 2:40

Korker is a Class 1 winner in waiting, I am fairly certain of that, but if you're a backer on him you have to be wary of his slow starts which have been a major problem in recent races. At a track like Beverley that is a concern and has put me off from backing him, as it can be very unforgiving. If he breaks on terms then he's a huge player, but that's a big if.

TIS MARVELLOUS is surely the one they all have to beat in the Beverley Bullet Sprint. He won this race last year and did it in good style. He was an unlucky fifth in this race back in 2019 where he constantly denied a clear run.

This race would've always been the plan and target, and if he can get a good sit from stall 7, I think he could be tough to beat. Though he is an ageing sprinter, he is still a very good horse and has the class to get involved in this and beat the younger horses.

Goodwood 1:50

A tricky race as I think it is hard to compare the form and weigh up how good some of the horses who are coming up in grade. On the forecast odds of around 15/2 – 8/1, I think BREEGE is worth an EW bet. John Quinn is 3/4 in 2yo races at the track in the last 5 years, which goes to show he doesn't send them down unless he feels he has a very good chance of landing some prize money.

I think the form is good and makes her a serious contender. She looks like a horse who needs 7f, so the fact she has managed to win over 5.5f is quite surprising. She has run very well over 6f the last two times with a slow start at Pontefract being the main reason for the fairly heavy defeat. I think her recent 3rd placed run on her latest start at Ascot was a good effort behind two good horses (Lezoo & Kinta). Kinta didn't exactly boost the form on her latest run, but the fifth (Cuban Mistress) has won a Listed race since. Breege was staying on strongly that race and looked to be crying out for an extra furlong.

Bright Diamond is the very interesting runner in this race after winning at Newmarket with ease three weeks ago. The form of the race hasn't been tested, so she might've beaten a bunch of very average horses, but the manner in which she did it was very impressive. It must've been a surprise to the Burke yard as she went off at 10/1. With the amount of classy 2yo's they have in the stable, you'd think the odds would've been a lot lower in odds if she was performing well at home as Karl would be able to compare the level of ability she has shown.

Goodwood 3:00

This selection could be a bit of a daft one, but I think that it is worth a small play considering the way the should hopefully pan out. PERFECT ALIBI looks to be the front runner in this race, having been progressive when running under those tactics, so it would seem strange to see them not wanting to go for it again in this four-runner race, which is arguably between two, or on paper, one.

If Hoo Ya Mal runs to form he should be very difficult to beat, but in a race of this nature, it can often be tactical and we've it on a few occasions in this race in recent years that having control of the pace is a big positive, so I'm hoping they give Cieren Fallon an easy time in front on Perfect Alibi and he can potentially steal a few lengths and be tough to pass, which he has been in his wins of recent. Hoo Ya Mal is miles clear on ratings but has only won once in his career to date, which does raise question marks about his attitude. So I think the odds-on shot is worth taking on with a small bet on Perfect Alibi, who is priced up between 7/2 – 4/1 at the time of writing. There is a strong chance he'll be outclassed, but on that chance that he is a decent horse from the front, he could spring a surprise.
