I was delighted to land another winner yesterday with Dakota Gold, who rolled back the years and looked somewhat like his old self.

He was given a great ride by jockey Connor Beasley, which is to be expected as he knows the horse like the back of his hand. Dakota Gold jumped well, was ridden positively from the front, and stayed on best to the line. Simple but brilliant.

Ashariba 15/8 – Leicester 3:25

Carrying a big weight in these types of races is never ideal as it can make you vulnerable to a possible improver, but I think Ashariba holds all the cards to pull it off for the in-form David Menuisier yard.

She showed signs of ability as a juvenile, most notably when overcoming greenness and inexperience to win at Yarmouth on her last start of last season. That particular race has produced a few winners since.

My selection finished fourth at Goodwood most recently, she looked in need of the run that day but it wasn't a bad effort given she has only been raced three times in her career and hadn't raced for 227 days prior.

My selection seems to be held in pretty high regard given she holds an Irish Oaks entry, with that said, I haven't seen enough from David Menuisier's youngster to suggest she can reach those sorts of heights in her racing journey.

Jockey Oisin Murphy is an eye-catching jockey booking, he rode the filly on her debut last year and replaces Jamie Spencer who rode her the two times previously.

Mach Ten 7/2 – Redcar 3:35

Firstly, I was surprised to see the William Haggas runner Candle Wax marked up as favorite for this race. He has shown very little in his three runs to date, finishing tenth of twelve twice and sixth of eight on his most recent outing in December of last year. He takes quite a significant step up in trip which he is unproven on and he hasn't run since last year, so race fitness will also be a question mark.

If there is a horse in this race who deserves a change of fortune it's Mach Ten, who has ran well all season without getting his head in front.

His most recent effort at Chester caught my eye when he encountered significant traffic problems when turning for home around the bend. He was pushed very wide, which cost him ground and momentum in the process. My selection did stay on once he got running and this step up to 1m6f should hopefully see him in better light.

The form of the Chester run has recently received a boost with the winner Fouroneohfever going in again during the weekend. My selection did finish 10L of Fouroneohfever last time out but I believe he would have finished a lot closer had he not come into interference beforehand.

Morning. Just a quick share of my bet to see if I can help out today with some nice stats for today or the coming weeks.

    Carrados 2.25 Leicester 11/4

Fairly briefly today as it’s making his debut for Archie Watson so not too much today. I’ll just scribble down why I’ve been waiting for this one.
Out of Mehmas, which imo is one of the best 2 yo sires around currently. Anyone who was at the breeze ups at Doncaster last month would have been extremely impressed with what they saw. He sold for close to 400k on the day. Showed another of speed, had a fantastic action and clocked a very good time on his gallop. Anyone who didn’t watch it there’s a video on you tube of all the sale.

The owners of Carrados are Wathnan Racing who have a 100% strike rate with their juveniles this season with 2 from 2.
They also have another horse in training with Archie Watson, Aesteurius, who was also purchased at the breeze ups last month. He made his debut on Friday at Bath, and was my only bet that day and won very nicely.
Archie Watson himself has had 12 juveniles run so far this season with 3 winning for a 25% strike rate.
A really nice stat is jockey James Doyle has also a 25% strike rate for the yard with 4 from 16. He has a 100% record for the yard this season winning on Aesteurius on Friday.
The danger in the race lo9ks likely to be George Boughey’ debutant, Toblerone. The yard have a 24% strike rate with their juveniles this season. And a nice little stat for the notebooks is when William Buick rides for the yard at Leicester they have a 57% strike rate.
For me this Mehmas colt will take all the beating today. Had this pencilled in since last moth waiting for this one to run. These are very shrewd owners as well. Can see it being gambled in further. I’m, as almost always, on at the early prices from yesterday at 11/4 but best I think is around 9/4 . Wouldn’t be surprised if this is seriously hammered in the betting during the day.
All the best with whatever everyone else is on today and well done yesterday Cairnzy, fantastic to see the headline tips come in for everyone.

    All the best, Chris.

Don’t expect this price to last and was thought of highly enough to be run in a 200K Stakes race at Keeneland which he was never good enough for but this is a huge drop in class and only his 5th outing!

    GL rest of the day!

Well done on 1st one. I think what should be explained more from your part is when you want doubles ,trebles etc coz you basically put up singles but if they both win or if 2/3 win you male out it’s a winning double like other day you put 3 up 2 won and you claimed a.double but what if people backed the one winner and the one loser! I’m sure if today they both won especially 2nd one at 8/1 you would have claimed a good price double where as in reality today to a 1 pound stake on both singles made 88p profit

In the nicest way possible Seabiscuit your comment makes no sense.

I will never advise people how to stake their money on my selections. The headline tipsters before myself didn’t and others out there don’t as well.

If I put up 3 selections and two win of course I will state in my follow up write up “IF you took the double it paid such and such”

I don’t shy away when I’m on bad form. Talking about previous selections and how they ran from the previous day has been done on this page for years and will continue to be.

Racing is a game of opinions, some people don’t like backing favourites, some prefer double digit prices some prefer to do lucky 15s everyone is different.

I will never advise anyone on how to place their cash. I’m here to put up horses that I think have the best chance of winning and its as simple as that. I don’t use a staking plan, some tipsters do.. I don’t care enough about what people think of me to spend time tracking how I perform. I’m smart enough to know if I’m on a bad run of form or on track.

      Good luck

I think the point Seabiscuit makes is the headline after 2 win is double landed, that suggests you backed the double and 2 singles.

Today for instance you had a 15-8 win and a loss.
With the double you would have claimed at level stakes if it had won you would have incurred a slight loss on the day.
      3 bets, 1 x 15-8 winner

Think all you need to stress is well done anyone who doubled up on my selections today.

That’s my take, may be wrong but there you are 🤣🤣

      @elvis

The headline will state IF you took the double rather than double landed which is the major difference.

As previously stated and stated in my recent post, I will never advise people on how to stake their money.

    Lipa k 6-25 Bangor 13-8 bet365. NAP 🏇

Won in this class here last time on chase debut and hopefully can defy a 6 pound rise.
    ——————————————————
    Flaming ambition 6-25 Bangor 9-4.

This came back from a 2 year absence recently to win in this class on chase debut.
Always a danger 2nd time up after an absence that he may not run to that level again but Gets a stone off 3 of the 5 runners so that may help.
(Hometown boy has very good hurdle form but that was 3 years ago but will be dangerous if rediscovering that form here)
    ————————————————————–

    Barrons land 8-25 Bangor 13-8

2nd favourite in a 3 horse race and relying on home form as this is McCain’s stomping ground.
    Hughes riding though ☹️
