SPIRIT OF ANGEL (7.00) appears to be an improving three-year-old and is taken to supplement his recent wide-margin Newcastle victory by delivering an action replay at Chelmsford City this evening.
Marcus Tregoning's gelding notched a course victory back in May but seemed to really come into his own when sent up in trip a week ago when slamming his closest rival by six lengths. Ben Curtis was in the saddle, replacing a 7lb claimer, and he travels south to take the mount.
ALEMARATALYOUM (5.30) could never get competitive from a wide draw at Lingfield, with winner Alrajaa an above-average handicapper. Stuart Williams has found his gelding a much less onerous contest and although the draw could again have been a little kinder, he must go close.
At Lingfield, RED GUNNER (2.25) is penalised 5lb for leaving his rivals for dead at Chelmsford City seven days ago and looks capable of following up. He beat one of today's rivals Pike Corner Cross at Wolverhampton and should be able to confirm places, despite a reasonably hefty swing in the weights. Foresee is in good form and probably rates the biggest threat.
