SHIP OF THE FEN (4.35) has shown improved form this season and the return to fast ground can see him back in the winners' enclosure at Sandown Park.
He fairly bolted up on good to firm at Salisbury before finding the soft ground possibly against him when runner-up at Goodwood.
Earlier on the card MAKYON (2.20) is worth a bet in the Listed sprint. Mark Johnston's colt hacked up at Hamilton on a yielding surface and paid the penalty for charging off too fast when down the field in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.
At Chelmsford City, ALUQAIR (6.30) isn't a fancy price but should score for Simon Crisford on the strength of a second at Wolverhampton (pair clear). Market rival Qutob has had a few chances and come up short.
NINEPIN BOWLER (8.50) can strike in the finale at Beverley. He is up 3lb for beating Cold Harbour on fast ground at Hamilton 16 days ago and this isn't a strong contest.

His last win was in this grade, the ground is to his liking and this galloping track with the climb up the hill to the line are all positives. They havn’t booked Kerrin to ride this for nothing.
I know Ian from working together in Chantilly for Francois Doumen and have managed to txt message him and he has said this horse has been working well with The grand visr at home, they are very happy with him and they think he has every chance of getting his 4th win today.
I am hoping to give myself a few weeks off as of monday so hopefully i will see you all next week. I do have a horse that intrests me running Tuesday.

He made racing interesting before the advent of the 24/7 racing channels.
One of his big gripes was the use of the whip which I totally agree with.
A horse should run on its merits and not need the threat of being struck with whatever whips are made of nowadays.
