FEELS like only yesterday the Scottish Cup final closed the curtain on the Scottish season but after a few weeks of league cup matches, it’s back to league business.

I'm really excited about the season ahead and some fascinating tussles across all 4 leagues.

Rangers not surprisingly are odds on favourites to win the Premiership and given the state Celtic are in the 8/15 looks nailed on.

Aberdeen look like they could go well under Stephen Glass and will likely fight it out with Hibernain to be best of the rest.

I reckon the Dons may just pip them and can be backed at 11/8.

Picking a side to finish bottom is much more difficult as it literally could come from any of Ross County, Livingston, Dundee or Dundee United, although I do think the Dundee clubs have enough about them to secure safety.

Moving into the Championship and Kilmarnock are odds on at 10/11 to make a swift return to the Premiership and whilst I think they will, it’s a very short price.

Dunfermline have done some terrific business in transfer window and look a big price at 8/1 – I don’t see them finishing any lower than second.

Another club I’m expecting to go well is Partick Thistle – they too have recruited well and will have at least a play-off spot in their sights.

The most fascinating division is League One where Cove Rangers, Queen's Park and Falkirk will fight it out. I’m taking Cove at 3/1, they’ve signed a lot of experience and should go well under Paul Hartley.

Kelty Hearts should steamroll their way to the League Two title. They are head and shoulders above everyone else in that league and there’s no really challenger for me. They have been backed into 5/6 and doubling that with Rangers is a very, very strong 7/5.

The Scottish Lower leagues are where I do lot of my good work and they are leagues I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into again. The bookies aren’t always the shaperst in these leagues and we’ll definitely find some gems throughout the season

Teams to watch out for;

  • ✅ Dunfermline
  • ✅ Partick Thistle
  • ✅ Cove Rangers
  • ✅ Queen's Park
  • ✅ Kelty Hearts

Teams who look like they’ll struggle;

  • ❌ Livingston
  • ❌ Ross County
  • ❌ Greenock Morton
  • ❌ Dumbarton

I’ve recorded two ante-post Podcasts, covering in detail all 4 leagues and the best betting opportunities, as well as all the ins and outs at each club – well worth a listen.

Greg's Ante-Post Tip
