WE could be set for a sensational day 3 at The Masters with defending champion Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy going out in the final group.
Spieth leads for the sixth successive round at Augusta but only by one after two late bogeys were countered by three birdies on the back nine by McIlroy.
Ace Venturer says: My selections again had up and down days with Hideki Matsuyama three behind the leader, with Dustin Johnson a further shot back at evens and Brooks Koepke on one over. They all remain in contention at least for a place.
“Of my three balls yesterday only Bernd Weisberger produced the goods at 4-5 but at least it’s a return.
“Today I find it hard to split Kevin Na and Emiliano Grillo. Na fought back after a disastrous double-bogey six at the first but slipped up at the end when bogeying the 16th and 18th.
“Meanwhile, Grillo had a mixed day before double-bogeying the 16th and dropping a shot at the 18th. Wouldn’t be surprised for them to finish on the same scores today (15-2, Betway).
“Has the momentum now swung to McIlroy after finishing three strokes better than Spieth yesterday? I think it might. After a superb first round Spieth looked human yesterday and his frailties of the last few months might just come back to haunt him. So for me Rory (1-1, Betway) is the one here.
“Brandt Snedeker has hit some kind of form this week but also had a double bogey (12th) but had five birdies to compensate as well as three other bogeys. He’s up against Dane Soren Kjeldsen who must be on cloud nine to be T5th and four off the lead. Do I go with experience of Snedeker or the fighting spirit of Kjeldsen? I think the Dane might just pip it in this one (15-8, Coral).”
Mr Fixit's says: “It's one out of two on my twoball bets with an 8-1 winner and a 7-1 loser and I'm going for 7-1 fivefold on Moving Day.”
