It’s the final event on the PGA Tour before the FedEx Cup playoffs start as we look forward to the Wyndham Championship at The Ross Course, Sedgefield Country Club, Greensboro, North Carolina.

The 156 field with the top 65 including ties making the cut will all be competing for a share of the $ 7.3 M  prize purse with the winner collecting the Wyndham Championship title and a cheque for $1.15 M.

The Ross Course will be playing 7,131 yards long this week, it’s a par 70 parkland layout where accuracy and precision will be the key to success in a birdie frenzy. With winning scorecards reading -21 or better over the past half dozen or so years, expect fireworks in North Carolina this coming weekend.

Kevin Kisner returns to defend his crown and if you remember last year, the dramatic six-man play-off involving Roger Sloan, Adam Scott, Si Woo Kim, Kevin Na & Brandon Grace but it was the local lad Kevin Kisner who eventually triumphed on just the second playoff hole with a delightful victory birdie.

The weather is forecast to be overcast and warm with lots of clouds and sunny intervals. Saturday could see some thunderstorms but breezes will remain calm peaking at around 10mph.

This event will be screened on Sky Sports Golf & red button with live coverage starting at 11.45 am on Thursday morning.

So let’s move on with this week's Wyndham Championship betting tips.

Kevin Kisner

For my first and main pick in North Carolina, I’m going to stick with the defending champion Kevin Kisner 40/1 EW SportNation. With an abundance of course knowledge the 38-year-old local native from South Carolina has bags of expertise and experience to successfully defend his crown and at a not too shabby price in my estimation. My only concern however is the fact that Kisner has missed the cut at eight events this year including last week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

If you can get over that then it most certainly gets better T21st at The 150th Open Championship at St Andrew's only a fortnight ago, T6th at his previous event, the Travelers Championship T8th at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, 4th at The Players Championship, T3rd at the Sony Open in Hawaii and keep the best for last, runner up at the WGC Dell Technologies Matchplay, all this year.

On the stats front, the figures that stand out for Kisner are on the dance floors where this tournament will be won or lost in a birdie paradise.

Kisner ranks inside the Top 20 on the PGA Tour this year for SG Putting. He is 21st for Driving Accuracy at 67.33% and 24th SG Around The Green. If Kisner can forget about recent missed cuts and use the familiar surroundings to his advantage as well as the home support then he could well be on his way to bagging his fifth PGA Title whilst successfully defending his Wyndham Championship crown.

Si Woo Kim

For my next selection, I’m going to advise Si Woo Kim 28/1 EW 10Bet. The 27yrs old from Seoul, South Korea is flashing up red all over the radar and a fourth victory on the PGA Tour seems imminent. With seven Top 20 finishes this year Si Woo Kim just seems to be popping up all over leaderboards everywhere.

He has two Top 20 finishes at his last two events which read even better considering one was T15th at The 150th Open Championship, the other being T14th at last week's Rocket Mortgage Classic. My only concern here is that none of those Top 20 finishes doesn't get any better than that unfortunately with no Top 10s and also four missed cuts in twenty-one attempts this year. I’ll try to put you back on side with Si Woo Kim immediately with the stat that sticks out a mile on the PGA Tour rankings, especially for this event.

The young  South Korean is ranked 4th on the PGA Tour for Total Birdies and as I’ve previously mentioned, with birdies plenty available as always on The Ross Course, if Si Woo Kim arrives producing those kinda figures then we won’t have to wait all that long for the victory that's going to happen anytime soon, possibly this weekend at Sedgefield Country Club where he was only beat in a playoff at the last time of asking.

Russell Henley

For my final golf betting prediction, I’m going to point you all in the direction of Russell Henley 25/1 EW Skybet. I included the 33-year-old from Georgia in my tips last week for the Rocket Mortgage Classic at 55/1 EW but a 10th place finish fell just short of the place money unless you can find a firm offering 10 places, although you’ll be hard pushed. I’m really liking what I’m seeing from Henley at the moment and he’s another who keeps popping up on the radar.

His best finish this year was runner-up at the Sony Open in Hawaii and apart from the US Open, Henley made the cut at every other major this year. It’s been five long years since Henley tasted success on the PGA Tour but he does have three PGA victories in the bag so knows better than most in this field, that it can be done.

With four Top 20 finishes this year and a few more just outside that bracket which includes 30th at The Masters, Henley could go even better than last week.

The stat that Henley brings that could prove pivotal is around the greens where he ranks 2nd on the PGA Tour for SG Approach the Green. I could mention many more figures where Henley ranks inside the Top 20 or better which include 20th, SG Total, 16th SG Around The Green, 11th SG Tee To Green and 6th Greens in Regulation Percentage at 70.75.

I just have a feeling that Henley is going to explode back on the scene with a victory and many more to follow and it’s all going to start on Sunday evening when he bags his first title since winning the Houston Open in 2017.

For my final selection, it’s the customary match bet and this week I’m going to suggest Russell Henley again but this time to beat Tyrrell Hatton over 72 holes 10/11 Nap Bet365.
