With just 10 games to go the race for the Championship title and promotions to the top flight is really hotting up.
There’s just five points separating the top three and Leeds have the chance to leapfrog Ipswich and move within two points of Leicester ahead of them both facing tricky away matches on Saturday.
All Leeds have to do is win at Sheffield Wednesday. Until recently that looked like a bit of a gimme but the Owls have won four in a row (five in their last six – the only defeat to table-topping Leicester City) as they try to claw their way out of the relegation zone.
A win tonight would see Danny Rohl’s side jump an incredible seven places from 23rd to 16th in the table.
Resurgent Wednesday’s five recent wins have all come against teams in the bottom half of the table. They did draw 0-0 with Leeds earlier in the season, one of only four teams to take something away from Elland Road, but this is now a Leeds side with promotion in their sights.
Away form hasn’t been great however. They’ve dropped 24 points away from home and were held to a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield last weekend. That places enough doubt on the away win to steer clear at odds of just 4/6.
Leeds have netted in 13 of their 18 away matches so should be good for at least one goal. If they’re going to win they may need at least two which takes us into Over 2.5 territory which pays 4/5. Add in one fo goals to come in the first 45 for an even money shot.
