FRIDAY nights are all about French football and as well as my usual goals total in Ligue 2, I'm heading to the third tier as high-scoring Lyon Duchere  host Le Puy Foot in a match that looks massively overpriced for goals.

The National 1 is a league I've been watching from afar and again it's a league were there is value to be had in the goals markets.

Ligue 2 again looks difficult (15 of the 16 sides are on odds against) however the bookies are still providing us with an edge on total goals and it landed again last week with 19 goals scored (18 needed) which for 8 games always has a chance.

Lyon Duchere  vs Le Puy Foot (KO 7pm)

Two sides with differing priorities meet tonight as seventh-placed Lyon, who are right in the mix for promotion, host fourth-bottom Le Puy Foot who really need to start winning games if they are to avoid the relegation spots.

The hosts have been strong at home losing just 2 of their 11 matches but it's their goalscoring explits that stands out  – their last 6 games have all delivered at least three goals with both sides scoring (2-1 3-1 5-1 2-2 3-2 1-4). That 27-goal tally is impressive (F16, A11).

The visitors have kept just one clean sheet in their 12 away matches this season, conceding 2 or more in 7 of those games, and it's hard to imagine them keeping free-scoring Lyon at bay. They lost 2-1 at home to tonight's opponents earlier in the season and it could be a similar score tonight.

Both sides in need of the points and the 29-20 looks really generous with Marathonbet. Lyon are as big as 4-5 to win this which also looks appealing but going to side with goals.

Recommended Bets

  • Over 2.0 goals (Asian goal line)
  • 5/6 (bet365) (NAP)
  • Lyon Duchere over 1.5 team goals
  • 59/50 (Marathonbet)

French Ligue 2 Total goals – 8 matches (7pm)

Like last Friday's winning total goals bet from here, Sky Bet have forced my arm again by setting the goal line low at 18+.

With 8 matches there's also a good chance at least 2-3 of the games will be high scoring and there are enough sides tonight involved where we should see goals, especially as we approach the business end of the season.

We were unlucky again last week as we hit 7 from 8 over 1.5 but at such high odds it's always worth doing for loose change.

Recommended Bets:

  • 18+  total goals to be scored 8/11 (NB)
  • 20+ total goals to be scored 13/8
  • All 8 matches over 0.5 fhg 41/1
  • All 8 matches over 1.5 22/1
