AS far as betting opportunities go Saturday could be one of the biggest days we've had for quite a while.

There are three games from the Belarus league with three home teams big favourites with the treble paying round about 6-4 with McBookie.

And while we should have been looking forward to the Grand National instead the focus will be on the Virtual Grand National live on ITV.

And don't forget to have a go on the pools which are enjoying a resurgence.

I'm not big on racing but I always have an Aintree bet and I'll be doing so again with profits from losing bets going to NHS charities.

In 2018 Tiger Roll won both the virtual race and the actual Grand National then in 2019 the computer-generated version predicted three of the top finishers including Tiger Roll.

The favourite is 5-1 with William Hill and others and having rarely won on any race I might as well have a go here.

If the info fed into the computer is all correct then it will win and it would be apt if Any Second Now, 10-1 with Betfred, finishes second. You can of course have an eeach-way bet with most firms paying one-fifth the odds for a top-five place.

Third in the betting is Burrows Saint at 12-1 with Definitly Red 14-1 and Walking In The Mill 16s.

Kimberlite Candy and Magic of Light are next in the betting and both look good ew punts.

The Tom Lacey-trained gelding Kimberlite Candy is an eight-year-old (the same age as three of the last five winners) and recently took the Warwick Classic Chase by 10 lengths.

A strong-finishing second in the Becher Chase on this course last December will stand him in good stead, together with a handy weight and no clear ground dependency.

The Belarus League continues and one of the best-known teams are BATE Borisov due to their past exploits in the Champions League.

Kirill Alshevsky’s men, however, have lost their opening two games and will be doubly determined when promoted Rukh Brest visit today.

BATE are expected to make amends for their shaky start and are a best 1-3 at bet365.

Rukh were formed just four years ago and this is the first meeting between the clubs. On paper there's a huge gap and I'm on BATE -1 at evens with McBookie.

Shakhytor are also a short price at home to Nemad Grodno – a side they've beaten four in a row at home with an aggregate of 11-10.

Bet365 go 2-5 on the home win and Shakhytor could be worth a look to win to nil having conceded in just two of 12 in this fixture, at evens with BetVictor.

Champions Dinamo Brest are unbeaten at home since July and are another short price against Slavia Mozyr with bet365 and BetVictor going 1-3.

A treble on BATE, Shakhytor and Dinamo Brest pays 6-4 at bet365 and will be popular with big hitters.

I posted my poolss picks earlier but I've listed them again – online deadline is 2.55pm.

Good luck if you have a bet today – and let's hope the NHS Charities make what they deserve.

Instead of using algorithms for the virtual national it would be better if 40 people were each given a spectrum zx keyboard and they battered the hell out of it for 4 mile plus trip. Those who played Daley Thompsons Decathlon would see their odds slashed massively.

    BURUNDI Primus league.
    3pm ko.
    Les lierres v athletico Olympic.
    Btts 10-11 (Betway) NAP.

Les lierres are bottom and on a longish losing streak are 11 points behind athletico and are priced accordingly to win at 4-1.

But they have seen btts in 9 of last 10 homes and only 3 h2h here been 3x 1-0 wins.
Also last 8 h2h home and away the home team has always scored.

Athletico average over 1.5 goals scored and over 1.5 against overall and scored in 16 of last 20 aways⚽.

Just watched the five classic World cup games from various decades on BBC there. All magnificent show pieces for our beautiful game. How did Tam Forsyth get a game in that great 1978 Scotland and how did he miss that 2 yard header in the final minute against Holland.? So many good players on show and Graeme Souness bossed the game and oozed class. What a player he was.

That silky white Dutch away strip was one of my favourite shirts of all time.

Now i hhave to wait till june to get money out of this government. Liverpool fc have lower themselves into the gutter by asking the government for money. They have more money than a horse can sh-t but ask for a bale out. They didnt need to and shouldn’t have done this. You say we are 1 of the richest country’s in the world. Then why do we have 1000s of people living of food banks. If thos keeps going for a long time there will be 10’s of thousands on food banks. Quite ironic that the only clubs were discussing using the furlough scheme are from the self proclaimed richest league in the world. My team Aberdeen announced the following today.
Club Manager, Derek McInnes, his coaching staff and players, have agreed to partially defer payment of salaries and bonuses for four months from 1st of April.

Higher paid, non‐football staff will also be taking partial salary deferrals. These steps will improve the Club’s cashflow by £1.1million.

If players and staff from a club like my team who aren’t paid a fortune can do this without prompting, surely the premier leagues players could take it upon themselves to do something similar.
