WE'VE not had much to bet on since last Thursday – and our choices are shrinking by the day.

For racing fans thankfully meetings are continuing behind closed doors – next month's Grand National has fallen though – but Tuesday's National League games are now off after the FA banned all football down to grassroots level.

Behind closed doors games in Turkey have been a focal point for punters and well done to Greg and all the other winners on Monday.

I tried a double and while over 2.5 goals landed at Eskisehirspor vs Adana I needed a Sivasspor goal that never arrived.

With the non-league games biting the dust Tuesday's card is as thin as a whippet. All I can see are Goziepe v Rizespor in Turkey and some matches later in Argentina.

I'm keen to keep things rolling but it's a no-bet Tuesday for me.

Life is so dull without sports

    • Mr Fixit 4 years ago

Can’t argue with that and this is just the beginning.

    • maccathered 4 years ago

Football will be played behind closed doors no doubts,if all the players have had 2 weeks lockdownthen there isn’t any reason why it can’t be played.

    • old al 4 years ago

With all due respect Macca, I’m not sure you quit grasp the situation.

    • maccathered 4 years ago

      Why is that old al????

    • sean567 4 years ago

I thought the same macca then read someone saying that playing it behind closed doors whilst allowing people to watch it congregated together in bars, and public places etc would be counter productive. The only way to combat that would be to shut pubs or not screen the matches live.

    • maccathered 4 years ago

Pubs are going to close sean,i can’t see why they can’t play behind closed doors,i think that’s what they will do

    • old al 4 years ago

      Let’s hope you’re right.

    • old al 4 years ago

      (Not the pub bit)

    • maccathered 4 years ago

Sky Sports are not refunding customers because they full expect fixtures to be played at some point.

    • old al 4 years ago

The truth is nobody knows and are playing it by ear, again, I hope you’re right but can’t see it myself.

    • Jamieinga 4 years ago

As a Leicester fan it would be bad if the season ended now, but on a brighter note it would mean Liverpool not winning the league 😂,

  2. Tuko50 4 years ago

Now I know the huge importance of sports, not only about the bet,
    Sports is LIFE.

    • boabee8867 4 years ago

On a sporting capacity there are far more implications to professional football matches being cancelled. I.m quite sure some of you guys have family members/ friends that have had their own sporting events cancelled. i know of scores of guys who have trained all winter for events in Barcelona, Paris,London, Manchester Edinburgh to name a small few that have lost in the region of £500 having booked weekends for them and their family. .ultimately the correct decision due to the grave situation, but not so nice on the pocket and if you love competing in your sport..

I notice Steven Gerrard is not commenting on wether Celtic should not be awarded the title if the season is not completed .

    • sean567 4 years ago

nope it was the MD who came out with the statement. I think its pretty easy to guess what he would think- but his paymasters wont/don’t agree so he wont say it.

    • jimba 4 years ago

As u said the other day sean, gerrard can’t say Liverpool should be given title then saying Celtic can’t also I think pubs will shut in uk😕

    • sean567 4 years ago

I really hope the season gets played to a finish wether it’s behind closed doors as a last resort or not, it will take away all the nonsense surrounding teams being awarded places that would continue for years. However it’s been funny to see that fans of a certain team that have been doom and gloom since the winter break and saying that the league is over for weeks, now believe that with a bigger points gap and less games to play since they started dropping points, believe that there’s now no way it’s over until 38 games are played 😂😂😂

    • chelseagirl 4 years ago

If the pubs are not shut already in the UK, then the sooner they do the better. All closed here in Ireland, as well as all the schools. Both need to shut to stop this.

Sooner this is stopped the sooner the sport comes back.

    • cockerspaniel 4 years ago

Well. I`m off out now for a pint before they close the pubs here . Have a good day everybody .

    • old al 4 years ago

Think I’ll join you cocker, must be having a strange st Pat’s day over there.

    • cockerspaniel 4 years ago

Aye old al . Pity the poor people who booked to go over to Dublin for the celebrations .
Any way I will be having a few Jamiesons and Porter today . Make the most of it while ye can .

    • Inkyhead 4 years ago

Very strange but absolutely necessary. Anyone who wanted to booze just stocked up on the cans, easy. Most people are at home today and many working from home for the foreseeable future. A lot of the non-essential shops including bookies have closed here now as well…the sooner you lot follow suit, the better.

    • jim burnside 4 years ago

I live in n.ireland inkyhead and believe u me half the people aren’t at home there out working keeping themselves and the country afloat.how the hell can u fix someone’s burst pipe lying in Ur pit…and thousands are like me.we don’t all sit at desks pushing buttons…we have mouths to feed and bills to pay.

    • Inkyhead 4 years ago

Jim Burnside it’s St Patrick’s Day (a national holiday down here remember) and most people are at home instead of the usual on Paddy’s Day. Very few people would be working today. I didn’t say anything about everyone not going to work, and it’s a fact about the pubs being a perfect breeding ground for it. There’s no disputing that Boris and co have been way too slow to start dealing with it. Why the hostility?

  8. Inkyhead 4 years ago

BTW the pubs are the absolute worst environment for the virus, a couple of drinks in and every precaution goes out the window, never mind keeping a distance from one another.

    • jim burnside 4 years ago

Are you piers Morgan by any chance…because you seem to know it all.

    • Inkyhead 4 years ago

Are you a comedian in another life…coz that’s just hilarious. Outta curiousity, have you got something against us Mexicans?

I was just stating a few facts pal. I never made any statement about people not having to go out to work, just those that many that work from home will, and it’ll help. I have mouths to feed and bills to pay too believe it or not.

    • old al 4 years ago

Just a single for me today. Comes from the Bahrain league
    Al-Muharraq v Al Riffa
Al-Muharraq to win and both teams to score 13-5
Think this is massively over priced. Just look at the stats. Al-Muharraq have a great home record and Al Riffa always score on the road. GL all

  12. alex. walker 4 years ago

Macca i cant see the league starting before september. This country is behind all of europe with most on lockdown. Am still at work but for how long i dont no. You said they wont close the pubs. Look all over europe not a pub open anywhere. Going to get worse before it gets better.

    • maccathered 4 years ago

Take a look at Singapore everything back open there back to normality 850 had virus no deaths.

    • Mr Fixit 4 years ago

I know someone who works in Singapore and they say it’s certainly not back to normal.

    • jim burnside 4 years ago

Well if you Google the business times Mr F you will find that they disagree with the person you know ..the malls are 5% down on normal before the virus.i will take there word for it.

    • Mr Fixit 4 years ago

I’m not there but that’s what she says.
I saw a report today that said: “Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong are witnessing fresh waves of coronavirus infections. Singapore reported 23 new cases late Tuesday, its highest daily count since the epidemic started.”

    • kyle b 4 years ago

Sky are doing them Aaron lad, may be on that game myself later.

    • kyle b 4 years ago

Line is high at 70 Booking Points however which is a little offputting.

    • aarron19888 4 years ago

ahh, yeah that is a bit high, hoping PP put them up closer to kick off – hoping for 50 lol

    • kyle b 4 years ago

Yeah defo best left alone at the minute, 50 is where the line should be IMO but won’t be betting on unders. Line may be altered nearer to game time so keep an eye on it.

  14. elvis parsley 4 years ago

They can’t finish leagues behind closed doors unless 100% of players of all clubs are virus free which is unlikely in the short term.
It’s a case of hurry up and wait I’m afraid.
Once pubs and restaurants close it’s a case of a few tinnies in the local park.

    • maccathered 4 years ago

If all the players have a two week isolation period then surely they can play behind closed doors

  15. El Gooner 4 years ago

my god Sean, hope everything is ok pal, shocked that the office I work in is still open with over 1,000 workers even though the Scottish stance is no more than 500 people in any place at once, been going mad at higher ups at work but they are just hiding behind boris obviously

    • sean567 4 years ago

      **hes not pregnant obviously 🤣🤣

Sorry to hear that mate, remember though it is the season for colds and flu, wish them a speedy recovery.

    • sean567 4 years ago

everything will be fine mate, obviously just precautionary, shes had the cough for weeks but was meant to be at midwife soon so phoned to ask her what was happening and told that was the advice. Hes been off school for 2 days with the cold, don’t think its anything worse than that but again sounds precautionary. Im at work when they’ve been told so im wondering if I cant go home who the hell is making my dinner

Ha just logged into my bet 365 account to see a balance of hundreds of pounds- wondered what it was and they’ve refunded all bets on the euros. I’ve been backing Belgium against Russia with odds and sods for months now and it’s built into a nice pot. Good that they’ve refunded it instead of holding onto it.

    • Mr Fixit 4 years ago

      Yeah that’s probably fair enough.

Great news the f.a has committed to finish off the season by June 30th,great news for us bad news for Newts

    • Mr Fixit 4 years ago

Great news but no chance of happening in my opinion.

    • maccathered 4 years ago

      Why not????

    • newts68 4 years ago

Why’s it bad news for me. Everyone wants the season finished of course they’ll commit.
What you actually mean is because I’ve said from day one it won’t get completed that I’m wrong and it will.
Not a prayer. And your facts are wrong they’re aiming for June/July

  21. drogers 4 years ago

Turkish games…..no. Don’t usually bet on them so I won’t now.

Very slim chances when betting on leagues and games i know nothing about other than the usual check online to come up with a bet for the sake of betting.

    For that reason….I’m out.

Focus on something else for a while. Enjoy the family time, appreciate your health or just count your toilet rolls or something, just stop the addiction known as gambling for a while!

    Rogers out.

Tasty looking card tonight tomorrow lads with a full roundup of the Nigerian Premier League, all home wins will pay well over 50/1, banker material if all the away sides are scared to death to perform!

    • kyle b 4 years ago

      *tomorrow

    • Golden Balls 4 years ago

Is that still the case with nigeria?
Is it worth a draw no bet home win acca?

    • kyle b 4 years ago

Not sure what is the current case is in Nigeria but I’ve read some pretty bad things in the past on what can happen to the visiting sides, all home sides are odds on bar the Wikki Tourists at a shade over Evens. All 9 pays a tad under 5/1 on the DNB with Sky but may get better elsewhere, Wikki are playing Kano who have only managed 1 away win and no team in the division has achieved more than 3. Home records are still superb for all teams but things do seem to have improved in terms of away victories. I think it’s one of them like Greg does in French Ligue 2 if you backed it every week you could potentially profit from it in the long term, the last round of fixtures on 15th March in all 10 games there were 9 home wins and 1 draw so very close and you would probs be looking at odds of 40/1 to 60/1 each week depending on who is playing who if you backed all games with home victories.

    • gokeadeniyi12@gmail.com 4 years ago

I’m from Nigeria, home team has chances of 60% assurance to win or draw. I will look at them tomorrow and post somethings.

UEFA are being a tad optimistic with their plan for having the Champions League and Europa Finals in late June.

personally, I don’t think we will see any football for quite a while yet. Wouldn’t be surprised if it don’t start again till September/October as the Uk isn’t likely to reach its peak for another 10 to 14 weeks.

Even when it does, there’s nothing to say this won’t happen again next winter.

It would be easier if the government set up a system where healthy people such as athletes/ footballers could just check in, get the virus and then get it over and done with and achieve immunity rather then self isolating to avoid it.
They should treat it like chickenpox and get the players together so they can all catch it.

As it is next season (presuming there is one, as we might be still finishing this one instead) there is likely to be players / managers / coaches testing positive and matches postponed throughout the season.

I think everyone is underestimating how long this is going to drag on for. Sky will be showing subuteo matches at this rate so people on this site can have something to bet on.

    • Mr Fixit 4 years ago

That’s never going to happen- what about their families for one thing. For all we love sport and miss it, players are just the same as everyone else and shouldn’t be treated differently.

    • sean ireland 4 years ago

This season will end up being declared null and void, there is absolutely no way it can be completed given they are expecting the virus to be at its peak in the UK come July which is a real shame and yes Liverpool should be given the title they earned it. Miss watching and having a wee flutter on the footy but the greatest worry for these isles is the lack of action by that buffoon Boris and the state the Tories have left the NHS with their decde of cutbacks which is going to cost many lives, those b’st’rds { forgive my french} should be charged with genocide.

    • newts68 4 years ago

Macca are you deluded? Every Everton player and member of staff will test positive for Coronavirus when your due to play them 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think there are very few athletes willing to risk getting severe pneumonia and damaged lungs for life.

  26. jos 4 years ago

Let’s not forget. This thing IS killing people daily. Sport can wait for whatever length of time it takes until it’s safe to resume. And that I think is what they will do. None of us know just how bad this virus is going to get or how far and wide it’s going to spread, far and wide it would appear. It is what it is- a game of wait and see. Hope you and your families all stay well.
