FIRST I need to congratulate Greg for shaming Sky Bet into paying out on the Turkmenistan goals bets.
For me it was a poor decision not to settle the bets as winners as the lines were already before a game was abandoned.
By their rules they could void bets but morally they had to pay out and they finally did after Greg piled on the pressure on social media.
I know how difficult it is to get bookies to reverse decisions and how much work you have to do sometimes to win the battle so he did well.
So far I've not had any complaints about the way bookies have settled bets after the Scottish Premiership was called on Monday.
League sponsors Ladbrokes look to have treated punters well and they sent me a statement on Tuesday.
They said: “Following the SPFL decision to officially conclude the Ladbrokes Premiership 2019-20 seaso, we have settled ante post bets in line with our rules and have paid out on Celtic as champions, Hearts being relegated and Odsonne Eduoard being top goalscorer.
The settlement and ex-gratia payments on the Scottish Premiership is as follows:
- Outright – Pay out Celtic as winners, void bets on Rangers
- Handicap Market – Void all bets
- Betting without Celtic – Pay out Rangers as winners, void bets on Motherwell & Aberdeen
- Betting without Celtic & Rangers – Pay out Motherwell as winners, void bets on all other teams
- To Finish Bottom – Pay out Hearts as winner, void bets on all other teams
- Top Goalscorer – Pay out Odsonne Edouard as the winner
- Each-way Top Goalscorer bets – For players in the places void the win part and pay the place. All other selections void
So that's fair play from Ladbrokes and I hope other bookies have gone in line with the sponsors – let's hear from anyone who isn't happy.
Well done to any winners on Tuesday and on Wednesday there is one big game in Belarus – Dinamo Brest vs BATE. However, a word of warning here.
The teams meet again on Sunday in the Belarus Cup Final so there's a possibility of some changes. Team news is key but its not easy to find so let's see if Greg has any thoughts on this one. I'd back both to score if the sides go close to full strength.

A few people been asking me about this game – Here’s my take:
Cup final dress rehearsal as these two meet on league duty prior to Saturday’s cup final.
Brest have been absolutely outstanding in the corners market this season

Here’s the tricky part though – they are playing a BATE side who have been relentless in recent weeks. After a poor start they’ve won 6 of their last 7 keeping 5 clean sheets in the process. Corner wise BATE aren’t too clever. For such a dominant side they hit low numbers
Only 2 of their 9 league games have seen more than 10 corners and it’s difficult to gauge how this game will pan out.
I did look at Brest 5+ corners which has a good chance of landing at 4/5 but has since been cut to 4/7
With Brest’s corner performances this season it would be absolutely no surprise to see 11+ corners land at 1/1 but with a cup final on Saturday and questions marks on what BATE will contribute I’m going to sit this game out

Yeah Trev they do seem to have taken a similar stance although i did see on bet365 twitter feed yesterday a punter had Motherwell @ 16/1 to win the league without Celtic and Rangers. Bet365 didn’t pay on this while Ladbrokes have as Mr Fixit stated above.
Great shout from the punter it wasn’t a bet i had even considered, he deserves to be payed imo for finding that one.
As you say deserve to be paid out on Motherwell and I’m sure not many would have taken them.
I’ve spoken to a few bookies – and also fell out with some – over these issues but I do sympathise with them because they have tough decisions to make while also seeing turnover fall by up to 90 per cent.
Maybe when we get back to normal they will treat their football punters better as clearly we’re much needed.

It would have been nice if all played ball the same way but i guess it’s just a case of reading their terms and conditions for future bets especially next season as this could easily happen again.
If it happens again at least we’ll know where we stand.

With the return of the EPL should hopefully see a slight increase in June.
Always worth monitoring because the inevitable recession will hit sooner or later, but on the flip side any news on a vaccine will give most markets a boost. Could it be the empty stands and referees not being home team biased due to fan pressure is bringing teams closer than stats suggest they should be ?.
A few have said the decisions in Germany last week were less home biased than usual, you certainly won’t get crowds of angry players surrounding the refs anymore, which is good I guess.
