Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the MLS, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

4th in the Western Conference plays host to 6th in the Eastern Conference in the early hours of Sunday morning as Real Salt Lake take on Orlando at the America First Field in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Pablo Mastroeni’s hosts have scored 26 goals across their opening 21 fixtures in MLS this term, with 11 (42%) of them coming on home soil. The Claret and Cobalt have found the back of the net in eight of their previous nine MLS matches – striking two or more in six (67%) of them – and will look to breach an Orlando defence that’s kept just two clean sheets on their travels this term.
Óscar Pareja’s visitors have scored 32 goals across their opening 21 MLS matches this campaign, with 14 (44%) of them coming on their travels. The Lions have found the back of the net in 17/21 (81%) of their league outings this season – scoring two or more in 10 (48%) of them – and will look to trouble an RSL defence that boasts the joint-fourth worst defence in the entire MLS, conceding 31 goals.

Over 2.5 Goals has banked in 14/21 (67%) of RSL’s MLS fixtures this season, including in 7/10 (70%) at home – and given the same has landed in six of Orlando’s previous eight road trips in the league – I’m happy to have a punt on there to be at least three strikes in this one.
To nudge the price up, I’m happy to throw in the hosts to collect a card. RSL have been shown a card in each of their opening 21 MLS fixtures this campaign, whilst Orlando have drawn a card from every one of their 21 opponents this season.
